The console should work the same as it does under Linux... it's the `/~ key, but if you have a non-US keyboard you may need to re-map it to something different. You can do that by changing the consoletoggle binding in the controls configuration or by editing wgaf.cfg.
Keep in mind, though, that the controls configuration menu will try to bind multiple keys to it, and the console only reacts to the first key bound. So press backspace to delete the first key before setting up a new one.

THANKS, it worked. I didn't know that the console would only react to the first key bind. many thanks
Yeah, it's an obscure bug. The console doesn't work the same way other things do. The interface should probably reflect that. Glad you got it to work.
yeah an other option is just opening the cfg file in the vendetta map, and just delete every dubble mapped keybinding.
was the way I did it, because I didn't know that backspace worked, didn't try it out neither.
oh well, as long as it works, then it's all allright :D
cheers

It'll map backspace if you hit enter or click. It's confusing. What you do is point to the control you want to clear with the mouse, then hit backspace. Don't click. You can also use the arrow keys (and pgup/pgdn) to move among the controls and hit backspace to clear, enter to define. The mouse thing was added later, so that's why it's confusing; it was designed to be used with a keyboard only.
I'm moving this to Bugs as it isn't specific to Windows.
