If you have an issue with the format in fandom, go to preferences, change the appearance setting to "monobook" and it looks PRECISELY like the old wiki. No ads, nothing. Its even powered by mediawiki when changed to this mode.
Makes it a bit easier for you old men to adapt.

Want mods and helpers? Well, being condescending ain't how you get people abroad your project, bro.
Cool for you.
@import "/load.php?mode=articles&articles=u:dev:MediaWiki:AdRailRemove/code.css&only=styles";
add that code to your global CSS, and ads will go bye-bye.

}
/* Full width for Global Navigation and toolbar - optional */
.wds-global-navigation__content-bar,

Helpful.
At this point it would probably be beneficial to avoid antagony, lest you push away people who might be inclined to help.
Can we all move on and either support or ignore this effort as you see fit?

+1 to Whistler and Nihilus's and Greenwall's voices of reason here.

I'm still curious though: what was wrong with simply making the existing wiki better? Why not simply update it and add to it?
Nar expressed his opinion that it's too hard to update because all the VO wiki moderators are gone.

Which is false, of course.

What you're expressing here is called an "opinion." It cannot be true nor false since it's not a fact.

CrazySpence, phaserlight, etc are active as of this moment, therefore NarWalrusWarrior's assertion is false. It's verifiable. You can observe their activity in game and in VO-related websites.
Here's some homework for you greenwall.
I expect you to hand it in by Monday.

What is he trying to do that he cant update on the wiki? Besides page creation (which I think needs CrazySpence to do some sort of account VooDoo for), I believe they are able to change everything but the start page and a few other special pages.

"And ads won't be an issue, i can steal some JS code from one of my other wikis to remove ads from the interface!"
I would have thought that blocking their ads would be against their terms of service; that has been the case for every single ad-funded service I've ever used. You might want to check on that.

The last time I blocked ads with js, the host found out and terminated my site. So, go ahead and push your luck!
vpr-wiki is still down.
