Since "rice : weddings" beat out "rice : the Chinese" by a good 30 seconds or so, it should be considered the true answer.

You're overlooking the most obvious correlation. Penguins are fat and French Fries are cooked in fat. And the correct term should be Frenched fries refering to the way the potato is sliced.
