"Could we include an infinite improbability drive into the game..."

I'm all for this idea...except the squid.
Sounds like something Steve Jobs invented! :)

I am really happy when I can use a mac. Using a PC is really not much fun. Yes, it's cheaper and has better graphics cards for lower prices, but the system is just crap.
You really have to be a nerd, to set it up to be save and run fine. You can tune it to be ok (like Mac OS 9 was), but it will never be really good. And out of the box it's just horrible. Surf the web and in less than a day the OS is unusable anymore (virues, etc., etc.)
I am so glad to have a Mac and everytime I had to use a PC I am really happy to see how simple and smooth everything can be.
I once tried a PC in 1995 (or 1996) with windows 95 and it was the worst thing I have ever touched! (before that Amiga)
I got a game for it (Star Trek 25th Anniversary), and it took me 1 day to get it running! I had to mess up some memory settings to get enough classical RAM or whatever this is called, it needed 595 and only about 580kb was free default. Then there did not work any sound, although the computer had 16bit sound onboard! So I went out to get a Sound Blaster 16 Plug'n'Play for a Plug'n'Play motherboard. And guess what: It did not work in any way! I have been trying nights to set all this cryptical stuff without success! Even my PC-friends did not make it. So I took the sound card back and got 16 MB RAM for my AMIGA and never used the PC anymore. I was so dissapointed. Then in 1999 we got our first iMac! This one was expensive but really, really great! It looked fine, had a nice OS and best of all: it worked fine.
I am really happy everytime I can work on a Mac.
I agree that PC's have a better game performance and more games. It is a pretty useable game machine, but sorry, no serious computer.
WindowsXP is better than Windows95 but it still sucks! It looks odd, has no dubble buffered windows, no pdf Quartz cool rendering, nearly no drag and drop and most bothering: All Apps need use the whole screen (to be useable) and fill it with grey so all the space is wasted! This is espacially horrible when working with graphics apps and that stuff! And it's unsafe and the default settings are the worst ever.

just my 2 cent,
Stefan (who is glad to not have to stand the windows torments and is glad to have a mac)

I used to, but since having to use a windows at work, and getting a windows for college (AMD 64 3400+, Radeon 9800 256 MB, 1 GB PC3200, 200 GB HD, etc. $1600), I've changed my mind. A computer is a tool that you use. As long as you're using a good OS (XP or OS X) and not subpar hardware, you're set to go.

I come down solidly in favor of Macs. I've used both for many years, and there is just no contest. Reasons? 1) People come over and see the machine. "I've never used a Mac. Can I play with it?" Nearly every time I hear something Like: "Hmmm
How do I....oh! I see." "Now I want to....ah...thats it." A simple, elegant, intuitive interface. 2) Installing accessories. A while back, I got a card to provide four more USB ports. The installation instructions ran to four pages for a Windows box. The Mac instructions were three LINES. Open computer. Insert card. Close
computer. The only good thing I can think of about Windows PCs is that they keep a whole lot of I.S. guys employed...

Yeah, I got a bluetooth dongle to use with my cell phone. It came with a thick booklet of instructions and a CD. The instructions for the windows install were long and complex, plus requiring the install of drivers and some downloading from the net (I use it with my workstation at work too). The mac instructions were pretty much plug it it, cos the mac supports it from the box. That was it!

If only Alias|Wavefront would port studio tools to OSX!!! Than my office would switch to all macs!
