I really like this so far, good job.
Also, I noticed that Wings 3D has versions for Linux, Mac and Windows. :)

I love Wings3D. Far more easier than Blender IMO.
At any rate, I love the model and thank you so much for removing those wings - I think they were definitely taking away from the awesomeness of the rest of the model.
Aside from that, how are you planning on having the ship maneuver around from a technical standpoint? It looks like you have engine ports on the front facing the cockpit, so I can imagine it doing an alternate firing to turn on a dime (i.e. back left engine firing while front right engine firing to turn right, and vice versa). Not that it really matters in a video game, but sometimes details that make sense like that add a great deal to the design overall.

By "ambiguous" I meant more "identity mysterious" and less "everything" lol. Other than that, coming along well... the ports look cool and all, they're just a little bulky.
I didn't see the megaposi-like thing in the middle of the original large port design, my bad, that would be fine.
Edit: by choices of port weapons you meant either:
2S
2S,1L
or
2S,2L?
Because if so, I'd suggest an alternate 1L or 2L-only configuration... we currently don't have any nice combat ships with that kinda setup.

okay a few minor modifications, tweaked the blaster, tried to make the body/engine transition a bit smother
And why not two versions of port setup, one light/medium with 2S and 1L and one heavy configuration with 2S 2L, though those details aint what i want to know right now xp.

I could add two or four (depending on what looks good) small booster rockets that would give it a more logical way of manuvering, since flaps aint gonna work in space if they arent placed in the negine so they channel the exhaust.

Given that none of the existant ships in VO have directional thrusters, you wouldn't need them; if you are looking for a more 'realistic' approach, they would probably make sense, IMHO.
The weapon pods on the side of the engines look very fragile to me, but adding more support will probably make the ship just look ugly. I kind of liked the asymmetrical, chin-mounted turret (I'm a sucker for rotary wing aircraft). The pods to the sides of the canopy might profit from being moved to a less auspicious position on the underside of the 'mandibles' (I'm sorry, I can't think of them as something else).
I have to say, the lack of wings makes me think of flying pencils, AKA Atlases. And I would give the 'canard' wing stubs more body, they look exquisitely fragile right now. Perhaps flattening the engine module a bit might avoid confusion with VO's nimblest cargo haulers, and give the ship a little more sleekness.
Other things I like very much about your design: The hatch behind the canopy, the fairly original design (as far as I can tell), how you proportioned the ship.

Okay now i have made a major change on the model, i have flattend the engine, which meant deleting it and remaking it from scratch (xP). also i added fins to it, personaly i lthing they are pretty stylish on the ship.
And i want to know which of the blaster placings do you like best? Manibles(under the cockpit) or Oranges(i seriously cant think of a better name, its the one on the sides of the cockpit)
(btw the tank was my earliest creation heh, and nevermind the "shut the fuck up" thats just me using geektool to post a few funny pictures to my desktop)

Btw, i think i might move this to suggestions soon, thoguh ill wait till monday, cause your suggestions are good. (im thinking of moving it cause i doubt the devs check the offtopic section, ever...)
Congrats, it's a pregnant centurion!
i would respect it if you instead of coming with stupid remarks wrote what you think is wrong with it. -.-
Why bother? You're not capable of putting this in-game. Enjoy your mom's basement modeling, and try not to take it too seriously.
Regardless of whether or not it could ever be considered for use in VO, it's still a really cool design.
The large ports are much too widely spread. I'd suggest taking out the rocket launcher things and placing the large ports where the small ports are now... then go with either 1S-2L or just 2L
You should probably read these two if you are interested in making models for the game:

thnx spuck, il read em tomorrow when i have time
hmm screw this model im starting over.
Sweet deal. Better to cycle through a bunch of models until you get something that's perfect than to stick with your first design and make it tacky trying to fix all the little mistakes, IMO.
PS: I don't think it's necessary to go overboard on the ports. Look at some of the previous models to see what I mean. It's best to make them sort of generic and out-of-the-way while you focus on the rest of the ship.

Hmm... I kind of like this model, however there's merit to ShankTank's suggestions, especially the one pertaining to ports.

Hint: draw your idea on paper before you even start modelling. You should have a 100% complete idea of what the final product is going to look like before you even touch a computer.
