So I will be building a new computer in two days (when the PSU gets here) rest of the stuff arrived today.

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale (2.8ghz, dual core)

Motherboard - Gigabyte EP45-LD3L (PCI-E x16 2.0, PCI-E etc, dual bios, dual channel memory.)

GPU - ATI Radeon HD 4560 (512mb, crossfire supported but not using)

RAM - 2x 1GB PNY Optima DDR2

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 250GB

PSU - Apevia 500W power supply.

Case - A gift from Chi, ATX PAC Voodoo case with a modded second case fan.

A budget Rig that ran 498$ USD, I went beyond on the CPU though and got a great deal on the RAM. Was originally thinking 320GB HDD but went 250GB for the budget, since I don't store that much anyway and I took the old HDD out of my old comp to keep for stuff.

I'll be using Linux - Ubuntu, until Windows 7 comes out likely. Didn't feel like paying 90$ for basic vista and I wasn't going to cut more costs because of vista. I'll get windows 7 when it is released, maybe dual boot beta.

Dude go for an HD 4670 you will not regret it.

Cause I intend to upgrade stuff later as I need, I just wanted a good processor. And dual cores are rather standard now a days.

core2duos are only one type of dual core cpu's mecha, and the most expensive kind.
That being said i'd prolly get one too.

The clamshell worked great for what I paid for it. Hell, it actually ran VO at the time.

No, I was thinking an MSI or Vaio laptop.

Watch the PSU, Mecha. Might be too little. Only 500W?

And, as a builder myself, I will say: Watch out for heat! Monitor your fans and monitor your temps, so you don't burn out your new 'puter.

500w should cover it leebs.
Also, I will check the temps. thanks :) Luckily I don't live above hell's coal furnace anymore, so it's not like 120 degrees with sucking in coal dust...

It also has a fan modded in it and should stay relatively cool. and the cpu fan enormous, it's great :P. It also stays relatively cool in the room and actually has a draft sweeping across the room.

But yeah, I'll be monitoring things when I get it up and running.
