and no mistakes.

PC, if your brain is controlling it, I don't believe that for a second.

Fine, but the rest of it's true.

toshiro: I... don't recommend a graphics tablet. I've tried several tablets of the Wacom variety, and the only application that I can use those tools in without going batshit crazy is Photoshop.

In Illustrator, Flash, and FreeHand (rest its soul) I need the precision of the mouse, and the scrollability. Pen tablets SUCK for scrolling around in your document.

As far as natural drawing effects, the results that graphics tablets give are, in general, superior to normal mouse + kybd setups. However, unless you're going for that "natural" drawing effect, doing illustrations from scratch, there's no reason to get one IMO.

Unless you'd use one for 3D work in 3DS/Maya/Lightwave. Even then, I think I'd prefer my mouse. But I might be biased, I honestly haven't thought about trying out some of the new pads out there.

I've never used a tablet for art, but would it work to have both that and a mouse connected at the same time, draw with the pen, then set it down to click buttons/navigate/scroll, then pick up the pen again?

well i have a decent wooden desk with a nice smooth finish and it works great on that, if you want go get a nice piece of oak veniered quarter inch plywood and put a nice finish on it, or just get a piece of stainless sheet metal

"I'm past mice. I installed a BlueTooth chip in my head, so now I can type and move my cursor with my mind..."

PC, you mean like that thing?

And yes you can have both tablet and mouse connected.

I want it. I need it. I gotta have it. I cant afford it. Ah fuck it.

Well, that's bulkier than what I have, and less efficient since mine is directly connected, but the same idea.

Actually that's pretty cool.

I've got a mouse-pad with the old red-and-white Ambrosia Shareware logo emblazoned on it. I'm quite fond of it, actually.

I'm envious.

Just unearth an old Mac with a PPC 604e or PPC 750. They're fairly cheap by now (around USD 30).

Yeah, my parents have an LCIII, and if I ever fix my old iBook it'll run OS9. The Mac Classic we bought in I think 1993 is in a box somewhere, and it has the original Glider on it. I miss the Apple IIc that my mom sold at a yard sale when I was in Jr. High School forever ago; that one had Frogger on it.

How could she even conceive the thought of selling something like that?

Seriously, though, they're really not hard to come by, the G3 PowerMacs, I mean.

It wasn't such a big thing then, it was about ten years ago. I was disappointed, but the disk drive was bad. We should have fixed it!

Ahhh, the good ol days of EV classic on the IIci....
