lol same here (read up a couple ^)
ok i started playing eve about a week ago. I have a pc not a mac so i could have played it years ago. I just picked it up with all the news about eve.
compared to vendetta imho eve is different not better or worse. i been playeing for a solid week now and its a interesting game. Some things like autopilot are easy. And some things like fighting seem easy till you take into account what ship/weapons you fight with.
What i hat is the skills training. some skills take 13m or 4 days to train? Its going to take me at least a week more to fly a battle cusier if i can ever afford one.
Money (isk) is easy to get but prices are always changing. So inflation makes things cost alot more then they should. The mining and building aspect of the game is also challenging. Instead of buying ships now i'm actually building my own. Its minorly cheaper but at least i can sell them now
i know i'm a traitor

lol, Jess a traitor? Not like he wasn't one already. :p
coming from you thats rich man
Know what you start, its easy to get into a ship, but actualy having the right skills/fittings can take up to a month to get anywhere decent and months to specialize in anything.
Why am I saying this? Compare it to fitting govermenet issued blaster on a vulture and take it to tycourp assaults.
I loved eve because it allowed me to grief players extensively without getting banned like in most other mmorpg's. Would take a battlecruiser, kill a transport fitted for 200 mill isk and take it down before concord killed me.

bah, EVE. Did the trial and it's even worse than world of borecraft imo.
Don't realy like it.

Well i;m still playing it. I have my new addiction. I;m less then a month in and i can get alot of the ships i want. Not a battle cruiser but at least i know i can get one in time.
In Vo you can get every ship and weapon in a month tops. In eve in a year i don't think you could get all the skills to get all the ships.
I just have to learn to specialize andf i'm not used to it. I want every ship or at least the skills to fly all the various nation ships at my level. It truly sucks having to go 5 jumps in a pod to find a ship you can use.

to me thats just another reason not to play eve.
Meh, played it and the controls were god-awful. I can think of a gazillion cool things you could do with maneuvering that fast, and the right algorithims, but your controls are painfully limited to orbiting, or keeping a set distance. Which is a shame since the actual ship speeds in comparison to eachother and all that jazz is taken into account when determining hit chance. If you had more control, then a better pilot would be capable of taking advantage of his skill to outmaneuver his enemies, but as it is you basically ever want to do just one of two things; orbit really really close, or keep a distance very far away.
