Trains cannot be directed to any given point in the country, unlike planes.

If one is using electrical energy to convert into kinetic e, it can be shut down from afar.

They can carry more people/freight at a fraction of the (real) cost.

It is inherently safer to move on the surface of the earth instead of high above it.

Nowhere did I say trains should travel across (or underneath) oceans. We have ships for that.

Ships cannot be directed to any given point in the country, either.

Unlike planes, or cars.

But the fact that they *can* be directed to any point is exactly why they are the choice for a capitalistic society.

Consider the following, while bringing a new location onto rail service, that's 300miles away from their nearest railroad.

Instead of taking months building a station in the town. Getting permits for every *inch* of rail from point A to point B. Buying land from people along the right of way.. THEN taking a few years to lay the track.. THEN buying the trains.

Or.. Take some months to build an airport. Buy some planes.

Done.

Yes, the construction of planes is definitely simpler than trains. Come on guys, use your heads.

In due time, air traffic will have to be decreased any road, so I'll just sit & wait.
