Arolte, Agreed, Tri-Flare are only used in Special Situations, ie, a SAW war were they stay close to a station, So reloading is only 1k away =)
99% of the time we are in all kinds of setups, depending on the Task. As are you I would assume, Diffrent setup for a diffrent job.
Sir.Camps, Thank you for your compliments, yes a few rouge edges, But as you have seen, we are heading in the right direction.
Diffrent names are understandable =)
Not to bad for a 40+ Member Guild. Maybe we can have a chat off the boards about what happened?
KAos, Please go read the top post, I really would like this thread to stay and provide constructive critisism. If you have a complaint, Direct it to the INM-CM, re, itani.localnetsys.com.
Might also assist in allowing you to work out what our guild is about.
Yeah Alienb, Dialup is a problem in game, A tri-flare is effective still if you can pick the spikes.

Okay, time for a different INM thread. This one is for CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms of the Itani Nation Military and the Itani Nation Council. I'd rather it not end up locked. Roleplaying is fine, but keep it in check.

OK...me, a Serco, will start.
I hate guilds here...for one reason only. They do NOT enforce their own moral codes.
INM, from what I have seen so far, has developed a moral code for their members and they do seem to follow it from what I've seen. If an INM wants to do something that is not allowed in their code, they take the time to slip out of their INM personnas and then, do what they will.
Most members of INM know my character as an explorer and trader. I have been in s4 and s1 with INM personel and they have querried my intentions and have kept tabs on me but have let me go about my business as long as it was not a threat to the Itani nation.
I, as well as others, have been attacked for no reason by every other guild that has come along. This has immediately brought their guild into bad light. INM has taken the necessary step to keep their members from doing that.
INM gets "two thumbs up" from this Serco pilot. (so far.)

because of the huge amount of questions I get asked everyday about the INM, some people have set up a sight with good info on it. http://itani.localnetsys.com this has info on our ROE and member lists. Its not totally finished as of yet but it does have some info on it. There are also forums there you can ask questions on all you like. We don't mind critism but I will not stand for demeaning coments and statements that induce flame wars.
can inm's use triple flares when on duty?
If they're given permission by someone or other
Thanks RelayeR, We are trying a number of techniques to keep, What is now a very big guild into check.
And yes, Some times a player will be asked about there intensions, Normal kinda stuff, Just making sure there is nothing "shifty" going on.
It has been a strugle to make sure it all works like clockwork, However over the last month, A lot of training and explinations of how to deal with common siutauons, seems to have shown a great improvement in the way people are delt with.
When its quiet we will escort traders, Show new players around, Do some internal training, During the busy times, we can be isolating griefers and pirates, making sure all can trade, explore of bug test safely.
A main problem imo, Is the lack of guilds or pirate hunters that are on the other teams with sufficant numbers to keep the pirates and greifers from switching to Itani.
Even ECAV is a small team, And can hardly keep an eye out 24/7, Id like to see more numbers on the other guilds, So that we can communicate and isolate the Itani Pirates and Greifers making vendetta a nice safe place of learning, tradeing, exploreing and bug testing.
Edit * Re: Tri-Flares
To use a tri-flare, You would need to be autorised by a CM for that perticular battle.

oic thx for info.
You can hire me out to greif Itani pirates if you want. I would really like bounty hunting to be a part of the game.
Hi,
the INM is a guild with a nice aim, that just happens to be not easy to reach and hrrm ... the opposite of my way of life on amq-second :) which is not a personal problem but a challenge for me.
The only thing that seems quite annoying are those members that seem not to be under control and breaking some rules (ok ... rules that I think even INM does care about).
For example I can't get along with these ppl who are pirated in off-duty chars, switch on duty and are like "whowhoawhoa, the INM is here".
It recently even happened that one of these individuals even began interferring in duels after being abusive.
Situation: After an Itani cap pickpocket, jefferson, garphield and I were spacing around in s7, an itani trader (whose name is not mentioned here but will be provided on request) was killed and switched to his INM char whining around that we were messing with the wron ppl and telling random ppl that they now were on his KOS ... after being killed several times in s7 he started to attack garphield and me. At that time we were having a duel amoung family members which we thought would be accepted and left alone. This was not the case and we could not continue our duel and were very sad about that :-(.
If the persons who started the threat think that this is something that does not belong here, just tell me and I will remove the post.
bye and thank you for reading, amq

Amq, you may wish to file a complaint with the INC which if I remember correctly oversees the INM. (IE the Itani National Council). IIRC, that email address is here in this thread. If not, you can always find it at http://itani.localnetsys.com. I would also point out that A) a KOS list is NOT in the INM rules (again, IIRC), and B) as always interfering with duels is a bad thing.
Finally, I'd suggest checking at the above site to make sure that the INM nick you saw was actually listed there. IE it COULD be a rogue player who is actually NOT an INM member.

Yeah amq, Best to post a complaint to the INM-CM's and see what can be done, Ive also encountered at least one fake INM.
Reporting these problems makes changes and review happen. Its important all the members are aware of the rules, and that breaking them arnt tolerated.
Kinda hard to pick when you are dueling as well amq, Considering as you state, Its our place to stop you =)
Maybe considering makeing a charictor that isnt a pirate, and has a totally unrelated name? RP a diffrent type of charictor =) anyway just an idea, No flame intended

AAAAAaaand *huge breath* The verdict is in. I've been around on some newbie accounts hoping to get a more neutral view of the INM.
In terms of enforcing what they say they're doing, INM gets an 8/10. I was shown secret sectors, how to trade, protected from some trigger happy Serco (I was both NT and Itani).
However, as NT, I ran up against a problem with a couple members killing me outright. It seemed to be based on ship. One member (m2r7) killed my vulture without warning, yet when I came through in an Atlas again, he and Cohen didn't look a second time in my direction. As Itani, when I came under attack by Stress and Rydell, a distress message in Itani chat produced two valkyries and a vulture, which quickly destroyed the two Serco pirates.
Overall, you guys are pretty good, even though you have some rough spots to even out. I'm sorry about giving you guys such a hard time when you first started. It's appeared you're serious and in good faith have weeded out most of the problem people.
One note. Perhaps you should tell your pilots that firing at a person is not the only hostile action they can take against someone. I was trading 7-11 in a Wraith when an INM Valkyrie (CE-something) boosted at me from 1500m. I asked him to stay 400m away from me and he continued on boosting. I immediately assumed him hostile and fired on him. He docked and meant to say_group I was hostile he forgot the "/"), and that prompted a debate on what it means to be hostile. Please Valkyrie pilots, if you're boosting at someone, they will assume you're hostile, as most Valks use triflares and boosting increases their effective range.
Oh yeah, the "newbie" names are not public information. Deal with it. ;-)

Hi,
last word to the incident mentioned above: I won't ever communicate with the INM-CM about things that belong to politics. The person was dealt with and just reminded me that not all of you are nice persons.
If anything like that happens again I will just act the same way I did now [edit] and do not expect anything but just let it be with that [/edit]
bye, amq

Got a suggestion. Regarding tri-flare Valks, you may want to ditch 'em altogether. If the INM is aimed towards protecting traders or innocent players, you guys would probably be better off using energy weapons only. Using sunflares may result in collateral damage or loss of innocent lives during a chase. It's the reason why all modern police forces use handguns and submachineguns instead of assault rifles. They don't want the bullets to penetrate their target and hit innocent civilians. Same case here.
Just a quick question, Is [INM] Dagger among your ranks?
mainly because he was using a duel flare valk and being real nasty.
Also if he is then you might wana train him :P

I use a triflare on dialup. I don't on cable, because I can actually hit stuff with it.
Kaos, you weren't exactly friendly either, but anyway.
I HAVE noticed a variety in the load outs of INM members, even noting Rails among their weapon useage. However, INM does still lag behind in the actual battle ability per person, a deficit which is expected when giving universal acceptance. This deficit must be solved, as seeing 3 INMs die for every SAW... well, it's frustrating to say the least.
Also, i doubt if you focus on training in the right parts, i mean how often does a griefer/pirate chase after a person with homers?
/me notches 3 SAWs for every death:)

Pirogoeth, don't you think homers are lacking as an offensive weapon? If INMs used homers, they'd never land a homer on a SAW. I've never been hit by homers while barrelrolling in physics either.
I use gems because of their annoying beeping sound, perhaps occasionally hitting someone who comes within 110 meters of me.
homers can't hit much at all. even swarms don't usually hit unless they're fired right up close.
In any case... I think the INM is doing a good job helping out newbs. I've seen Eldrad and Zeplin flying around as (NT) Blue Trainers, so I'm pretty sure the quality of INM personnel will improve quickly combat-wise .

I know gemis are ineffective, which is why i am question why they train people in dodging them.
