Piro, I can explain the homers training, And you would have noticed the avoiding was done with no turbo, Im fairly certain you could asertain why that was =) What type of player wouldnt have turbo while they were against homers?

We have training for all sorts of taks, And Thanks harvestmouse for the compliments.

As for the fighting SAW, yes team fighting is very diffrent from a duel situation, A lot of our players have minimal experiance with it, However thats quickly changeing, Team fighting methods are being developed internally, And the change in the SAW kill ratio is showing this.
Time zones and actuall game time is an issue for big Guilds as you could imagine. We tend to promote RL before vendetta, Afterall paying for the net connection should come before vendetta lol.

Seems this thread is progressing well. Hopefully we can stay on topic =)

Turbo bursting is very valid against homers, but constant turboing i can see why you would disagree with that.

-Unless you're in a valk, turboing to dodge will make it completely impossible to actually dish out any damage. You have to dodge without expending energy and you'll actually be able to dish out some damage while they're swarm spamming you. It's a crucial skill.

Agreed Magus.

Dicipline, Teamwork and Undestanding our other skills that come from training together. 1 skills share does more then just show a team mate how to do something.

I turbo burst in valks, hornets, and vultures. Besides, much of INM does use it. With turbo bursting I can still deal out damage, also.

Pirogoeth, you boost, you die. You know that. :P

/me wonders what the hell Piro is talking about with heaters being ineffective--they kill him.

And realize that INM isn't just fighting the best of the best all the time, they'll have to deal with swarming rags from time to time as well.
Mar 30, 2004 Pirogoeth2 link
/me remembers them killing me once, then getting suffecient revenge.

Euhm,

Its more fun to dodge homers without turbo, its not as if they will hit you anyway.

Only thing that gives some grieve are those darn swarms. I so miss the old days of dodging 5 sets in a heavy ship :(. Cant even do that now in a warthog :(.

goes back to his corner and waits some more for the next gamecontentupdate.

cheers

The problem i see is that time could be better used practicing against flares and gauss, the two most common weapons...
Mar 30, 2004 Magus link
Because they're commonly used they get lots of practice anyway.

Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks Piro.
Besides the training mission you were refering to, isnt exactly something easy to pick up "on the job"

Anyway, Its up to the discression of the SL to train the troups were he/her sees fit.
I suggest if you have a complaint about training, You take it up with the CM, So they can make policy regarding it. This conversation is better suited to the INM boards in any case.

Having fought a few INMs in sector 9 yesterday, I have to say they seem a bit- green. Teamwork is all very well, but if the links of the chain are weak, so is the chain itself.
Mar 31, 2004 Zeplin link
Agreed we have a fair few "green" members, This changes with time.
As each members in game time and experiance increases, Things will get better.

Well the INM is a guild full of newbs so ya they are green as grass. One of INM's goals is to train noobs and give them a place to learn and belong to a group. So many noobies are pirated/griefed out of the game that something needed to be done to stop this. Now the new players can learn, and conteract the piracy all at the same time. Having a dozen vets attack them is always rather annoying since 75% of them have played for less then 2 months.

We had been training almost non stop until SAW started up. Then training had to take second place to waring, since any time an INM was on there was a war. Now things are starting to settle down again, so maybe we can step up training once more.

Yarr... I've gots a bad feeling 'bout all these green'uns training up matey... A real bad feeling...
Mar 31, 2004 Zeplin link
genka, Pirates would be worried =)
However its nice to feal like you belong, And even better when you are shown how to work for the light side of the game.

get another valk and chase the pirate?
(unless you're in a trade ship, making runs... but then again, why would you chase a pirate around if you were trading =D )
Mar 31, 2004 Pirogoeth2 link
You wouldn't believe how hard it is to catch valks, even in other valks.
