what happened to 01 and seritonin, how many of us -SM- are left
Jan 31, 2004 Zeratul link
One left and the other got banned. No one liked their attitude problems. I'm glad they're gone. Vendetta will be better without them.
Jan 31, 2004 Pirogoeth2 link
Or vendetta will have lost the only real organization on neutral.
Jan 31, 2004 toshiro link
er, yes. there was organization in the Neutral Territories. they were once said to be the nation that has the best teamwork. i know this is not true anymore. still, to overestimate the value of SM is, in my opinion, wrong.
Jan 31, 2004 roguelazer link
Neutral is the organized rabble. They have no leaders, their n00bs all get trained by blue (I've seen it, and done it, dozens of times), and generally only the real long-vets can organize anything worth doing. But, it does get done I suppose...

Everyone left gold for some reason.
Jan 31, 2004 doran2k link
There are many SM's left, as far as organized leadership is concerned I haven't got a clue. I'm sorry if the actions of 01 and serotonin have offended any of you, and I cannot speak for the guild, but I believe that the remaining SM's simply wish to train our Noob's (myself included). I wish no ill will to anyone.

[moved to Role Playing]

I am hopeful that this chapter is over and that everyone can move on from here.

3 -SM- were banned and muted for their individual behavior on the same night. 1 was unbanned a few hours later, once things cooled down, in the belief that he may have been an unwitting victim of one of the others. The other 2 were unbanned the next day though still muted pending discussion of the rules here. One was contacted in-game and found to be unwilling to comply with the rules here, so he was banned again. The other I have not seen in-game and is unbanned but still muted. I will keep an eye out for him in hopes that he would like to comply with our few rules and return to the game.

Their banning had to do with their individual actions in the game and on the message board, not their guild affilitation. As for those who were banned, I will not be actively pursuing their alternate accounts unless the behavior occurs again. The remaining -SM- appear to be conducting themselves appropriately and should not be concerned.

Sooooo. Who wants pie?

j/k.

I've trained lots of Gold newbs before and still do. And most of the gold vets left the nation because of 01 and serotonin's attitudes. I wanted to leave too. But Toshiro convinced me to stay and be a "role model." Don't know how well I'm doing in that regard, but whatever.
Jan 31, 2004 Spellcast link
you are a good role model magus. As a general offer, I am willing to help out any new players on any team, I hold no grudges against the -SM- Guild, or any other guild for that matter, tho i have a vendetta against a few specific players.

I would just like to say....It's about freakin' time. Although it's not exactly what I wanted *cough*permanentban*cough* i'll say good job devs. They were really degrading from the community with the constant verbal attacks and sector camping.

/me feels hypocritical

This is not meant as an attack on the SMs or the Neuts, but the SMs were very obscene and the like so I must agree that they're dissapearance will be a good thing.

As for the NTs newbs being trained by Itani, *Clears throat* some are trained by Serco :P

I hope that this is set as an example to the other SMs and they learn to exist, Im sorry that this is how it had to happen, 01 was once a good friend of mine. But the SM is not yet dead, there is still an obvious threat from them so we should be careful not to underestimate them. Overestemating the enemy is just as lethal as underestimating them.

/me raises his glass to the Devs, the Guides, and the FM

I would also like to add that ANY new pilot on Vendetta, Serco or otherwise are always welcome if you want some breif training.

Spellcast, we need to talk about getting the SDF TP online again btw.

PS: I would also like to mention that I hold nothing against the SM as a whole although I do hold a grudge against several of their rather more "colorful" characters.

and by colorful you mean "insert 20 "*'s" here.

for now i am neutral (gold) and i will be in agreement with many other players including Lin: gold nation fell apart, -SM- cam in and pirating and griefing became a big part of the recent actions of gold players. as for leaving i am against that till the next version of Vendetta. if things get worse to where i cant even stand being on the gold nation then i may change to the serco nation. i have been on the itani so i am just trying new things. that said: gold nation lets try to rebuild ourselves with more dignity and self-respect than before. doing so may take the return of some vets and may convince some vets to return to the gold nation.

The SDFs are honorable and we do help pilots as a whole, we escort and don't greif or pirate. Granted we aren't perfect but we try and do what we can.
Feb 02, 2004 Magus link
For the last time the NT didn't fall apart. We just all have work to do in real life that has kept us out of the game.

Reports of our demise have been greatly exagerrated.
Feb 02, 2004 Abomination link
Well then, it didn't fall apart, but it's definitely not as powerful as people tell me it used to be.
