Actually... most of the posters here do not agree with my idea to ask devs to check who 'corrupted' the key.
If you think this is 'kissing feet' then I have to add another characterization to your existing list: genuinely dumb.

It should not be too difficult to narrow down the suspects by examining existing list of 'owners', talking to the players who got the key out of the blue and using some simple deduction.
