It's not just pirates who are pretty disgusted by all this, Shlim. They're just typing it faster than we can. :P

And there are two big differences between what pey did and what Nahin did. First: pey's actions were extremely obvious, and not too difficult to work around. He massively disrupted the event, and everyone could instantly tell. Also, to avoid that happening, the location was changed, which tended to work up to a point. (note that I am not in any way condoning what pey did, just that it is a different caliber of action than what we are currently discussing) As Pointsman points out, nobody noticed at first that Nahin had cheated, and simply moving the sector would not solve this problem at all (nor are there any other simple fixes that quickly present themselves).

Secondly: pey copped to what he did. He made no attempt to claim that his actions were in keeping with Nation War, and readily accepted that, due to his actions, which were clearly against the stated rules, he would be banned until the host let him in again. Nahin appears to be claiming that he didn't know this was against the rules (ludicrous), and that he doesn't think it was really cheating. That is the crux of the problem here.

Nahin is not being banned for one action. He's being banned for not acting honourably with respect to that action. He has shown himself to be untrustworthy, and until he changes that I agree that banning is the only reasonable option. Say what you will about pey, at least you can trust him as far as you can see him.

Alright, I understand your reason now for banning him. Basically, if he doesn't want to admit to having cheated (or even doesn't think he did cheat), you can't trust him to not cheat in the future, and you can't keep track of everybody's actions in an event as hectic as NW. Therefore, you ban him, to prevent something like this from happening again.

I see now that I misread the situation. I misunderstood and thought he was being banned for one action, and I didn't think it was reasonable. I agree now that there's no other, easier way to solve the situation. Thank you for clarifying the matter for me.

That was extremely well put "diqrtvpe," it also cleared up the matter a bit more for me as well.

My final point: I did not intend to cheat, yet I cheated. I would never do such a thing again.

I say this knowing about 95% of you will not believe me. Regardless, it is simply the truth. Whether you believe me or not is your own problem

This is an accurate statement.
