"If nobody else wants to take a whack at it I'll try to run the next Deneb Run" - myself
If she wants to try another week, I say go for it, MOST of the time she has been successful, even the best event organizers can't prevent failure ALL the time. The past couple weeks haven't been so good, atleast from what miharu told me.

Sorry i been afk for a bit, But with the current sponsors permission [ONE1] would happily take over the Deneb run. As the longest running event in this game it should stay. Even if I have to host it myself it shouldn't die.
I as an Itani (and an American) will never give in to terrorism. We will have a race and if the pirates try to disrupt it let them. We WILL race even if we have to make it invitation only and not announce an official time until the even starts.
The Deneb Run is apart of the universe and apart of us. We can't let it die.
I call on the 3 major nation and their guilds [SCAR], [TGFT] and [ITAN] to help make this work.

since when is TGFT a nation guild?
We are not a nationalist guild although the majority of our members come from UIT. We also sponsor the Deneb run and will continue as such.

You're right Miharu, they probably did piss off a lot more people besides you. Which is where the point comes in, this affects more people than just you. The event will be run as long as someone wants to do it and the community backs it.
As for the past, no one ever really handed off the RUn to be run by someone else. When Martin left, Screwball just picked it up. When Screwball left, Jex and I picked it up. When we left, you did the same.
I get that you're pissed, I get that you don't feel appreciated, because as much as the pirates may heckle you for it, it gives them content and stuff to do, shooting down racers for money. Just calm down and think for a bit. If they disrupt it so you can't run it, organize a gank squad and leave for dinner when you have to. Let one of the racers like Mick or Katrina run it for the day.
Like it's been said before here, it's more about the will of the players than the will of anyone in charge of anything. If the players want the race to be Run, they will find some way to run it, even if they have to gank someone for a bit and delay the start. It's just part of the game. Food for thought :)
PS - From experience, omg, yes, picking sides as an Admin or GM of any sort only leads to the community dividing. So, for their sake, don't ask them to pick sides. Please? Trust me, it sucks to be asked to.

Jess your not even talking about the Deneb Run there, thats the topic of this thread, making it invitation only and not announcing it makes it an entirely different event.
ok, trying to veer the thread back to some facsimile of on topic..
last i spoke with Miharu she said she wants to try running the upcoming run, my personal opinion on the mattter is go for it, if she don't want to do it ill do in unless somebody else more qualified than myself (which is most anybody) says they want to try. If need be I AM available almost every Saturday around race time to host the race, I'm probably not the best man for the job, but I've got the time to host it and the credits to shell out the prizes.
Either way I'll make sure to be online and not afk before the race.

Can we have a summary of when/if DR114 will be held?
2200gmt (/time in VO) thats 5pm eastern 4pm central 3 pm mountain and 2pm west coast, Arizona doesn't change for daylight savings time so its 3pm there as well.
well how did it go? who won?
I think we have to wait for Miharu to post the official results. The race was... Uhm... "Eccentric".
==The Racers==
Mick - UIT council of PA. Veteran racer who almost always places, often in first.
Istamir Sol - Itani pilot. He's been racing a bunch recently, and he has consistently done well.
Katrina Le-Feir - UIT council of PA. Veteran racer who almost always places, often in first.
Kragmier - UIT Lieutenant-Council of the Syndicate. This was (I think) his first race.
Sora1373 - Itani pilot. He has yet to finish a single race.
==The Results==
Istamir Sol | 30:02 | Orion Hornet Convoy Guardian, FC, no weapons.
Katrina Le-Feir | 30:02 | Orion Hornet Convoy Guardian "Kit-e-Kat", FC, no weapons.
Mick | 30:39 | Vulture MkIII, FC, no weapons.
Kragmier | 32:18 | EC-107, FC, no weapons.
Sora1373 | DNF | Centurion MkIII, FC, 1x Sunflare.
==Observations==
1) The race started from inside the station this week, at the suggestion of the second MC, look ...no hands. This may have increased race times by an average of about thirty to forty seconds.
2) Katrina and Istamir finished at exactly the same time in my logs (22:30:03 GMT), but Istamir was listed as having entered the station first, and so was awarded first prize.
[Sat Nov 10 17:30:03 2007] Istamir Sol has entered the room.
[Sat Nov 10 17:30:03 2007] Katrina Le-Feir has entered the room.
3) Prizes were doubled this week, thanks to LNH.
4) Sora dropped out a few minutes into the race because of something out of the game, probably being called away to go to dinner. He didn't specify.
Next week's run will be at 2100 GMT (4PM eastern, 3PM Central, 1PM Pacific).

Ditto. Arriving at the SAME second at the docks of M14 isn't something you see often.
Too bad for the two uncharted storms and three pirates. It would have been very easy to shave off a second or two in many ways. I consider myself lucky and skilled to have reached Istamir: after Deneb, he was one system ahead of me. So I consider the run positively.
Congrats to Istamir, a seriously competent racer and great sport (even if his loading times are around 1/4 of mines ;) ).
Thanks to Miharu and LNH for hosting. Thanks to the various pirates for the laugh. :D
