of course, i do not expect you to feel in any way obliged to accept the appointment, seeing that it is quite obviously a pursuit in futility, that i would not normally expect of even a properly qualified and capable person, much less the faint of heart or...er... my point being, that a simple lack of response on your part, to the appointment, should serve in itself, as sufficient indication of your intent to decline to position.

we pilots of space, are quite use to dealing in the law of the gun, and a significant number of pilots appear to survive and even thrive under it's jurisdiction. I can understand the point of many, that any effect on the part of myself and my colleges, would most certainly pail in comparison to what would be left unaddressed, and i can understand their continued arguments, to simply not try at all.

I hope that your interest in jurisprudence continues, even if in only a strictly academic capacity.
