We are mostly experienced players, we know how to play and have fun, and if your idea of fun is to make others miserable... you are a dick. But unless THEY are dicks, they will realize it is part of the game and ultimately adds enjoyment. If they don't? So far Tumblemonster is the only one that has named anyone, and he named two people and two complete guilds. While the two people mentioned might or might not qualify, I'm hard pressed to believe that a major Serco guild, and a well known trader guild, are both comprised solely of "dicks". Either Tumblemonster's opinion is representative of this new guild, or it isn't. But nobody in the guild seams to want to say which.

Your generalizations are subjective, and overly convenient, with a built in back door (quote: "specific personal vendettas excepted").

While I commend your attempt at setting an honorable standard for your membership, I think it will simply be used to exclude unpopular applicants, while being completely ignored by the base membership.

I would like to know who you have excluded or intend to exclude, and if that exclusion was based on your stated philosophy, or otherwise.

Posting another dodge would strike me as a confirmation of my concerns.

No flame wars please... Though my response was more strongly worded than it could have been (perhaps I need to follow the rule more closely myself), that is the gist.

And TRS... no-one is excluded, except based on their actions as a guild member... i.e. no-one will be excluded but some will flunk out.

EDIT: Let me name the chosen (my choice... changeable (of course) by council) "political system:" Meritocracy... (The best lead the rest.)

If you are not potential council (or officers)... you don't belong on the faculty. This is intended to be a school (as well as a guild). Only the cream of the crop will be invited to stay on and teach (and ruthlessly plunder). The rest will go forth, diplomas in hand (unless they flunk out of course)... to form their own guilds, free-lance, or join another pirate guild (or trade guild even... many people never use their "education," and hell, we'd be teaching stuff very useful to traders actually). (Hence Anti-Pirating 101, for the general population.)

(None of these ideas may be workable, hence my NOT being the permanent "Dear Leader.")

In order to join the guild you must be in game at the same time as me (so I can invite you)... I am online alot, so just check the Active Players page every so often I guess. As soon as I decide on two Lt.'s it will be easier to get in. (3 times as many people with /guild invite power) (These will (probably) be temp Lt.'s as I want Council to pick the two rather than me alone.)

1) Does [GRU] have, or will it have, any preferences for the nationality of its members?

2) Do you expect, or intend, that [GRU] will have rivalries with existing pirate guilds, or do you wish to work cooperatively with them (when applicable)?

3) Will you make it clear what tactics your guild will employ, or will you let [GRU] members fight as they please?

4) Do you actually plan to do anything with [GRU], or is it just a joke guild? You don't have to be specific, a simple yes or no will suffice.

5) Will [GRU] take an active stance against the vehemently anti-pirate [VPR], [TGFT], and [CDC] guilds, or will you be passive-aggressive in that regard?

6) What are your *ahem* professional opinions on some of the major players in the VO universe (i.e. Miharu, Borb, Lexicon, Ghost, Smittens, Tumblemonster, etc.)

I couldn't understand much of Bidi's answers there. No to which parts? Most were either or questions that can't be effectively answered with a simple yes or no answer with the obvious exceptions of 1 and 4. Also the last question was answered sufficiently.

You know little of me, which is understandable seeing as that I have not been space-side for over a year, and I was of little note in the period that I was. I intend to eventually return, and I plan to set a number of events into motion when I do, but until then I am merely another lurker here. I have no love of piracy, as you may have already surmised, but I am willing to tolerate your kind so long as you play by the rules (few though those that apply be).

I consider those who are involved in our little universe's significant machinations to be 'major' players, regardless of their actual influence or skill (although greatness in the latter two oft determine the former). I understand entirely why you declined to comment, and I accept your judgment on such.

First of all... WTF is wrong with Cunjo? I have never understood your dislike for him... he's always been pretty ok to me. Secondly... Annihilat0r is in GRU.

Alts are alts... if a person can play one as a dick (assuming Cunjo does) and one as a pirate... good by me. (Maybe toss that alt-checker of yours... seems to be making you miserable honestly, or at least angry too much of the time.)
