Here comes, straight from the client thingie:
Known issues:

Changes from 1.1.2
Major gameplay changes:

- Targeting crates will display what is in the crate
- No penalties for killing a low-level player who has
participated in CTF
Other bugfixes and minor changes:
- Advanced combat mission not available until level 2. Border
Patrol available at 4.
- Azek/Latos border now guarded instead of monitored
- OS X graphics driver rewritten to work better with
multi-monitor setups and to clean up bugs
- Support for extra mouse buttons if available
- Trying to fix problem when joysticks sometimes stop working in
Windows
- Further debugging info added for Linux joysticks
- Target distance is more precise, calculates nearest point on
surface of target to center of ship

ends
- Prospecting and spy missions increment single-player mission
count

- Asteroids have a temperature that changes the mining rate
- Mining guns have varying extraction rates and heat generation
rates
- Trader NPCs take longer to traverse sectors

- Updated tutorial
- Fixed long-standing bug in AI maneuvering code (which
sometimes prevented transports from reaching their warp-out
destination, for instance)
i will go test a bit and come back with first impressions. there are some important things i was hoping to see in that list (like the guild features and bugs) and they are not, but i will go check first... who knows ?

does that mean it's free of charge now? :D

even if it's free of charge, it may not be a good ideea.. some pirates may wish to not take the license levels even if their levels would allow them to do it.
as i thought, the /guild system bugs do not appear to be fixed. there is still no way to get rid of inactive council for example, and to promote new council if the old one is off for good. also, no way to demote an inactive lieut if he's been inactive, not even by expeling him from the guild unless he is online, so... no way at all if he is inactive. that's REALLY bad.
the mining is in place and seems to be working well and players are excited about it, but overall, /me is looking out for the "in progress" section and the next update, with high hopes and tears in my eyes.

Yes. From the News page:
http://www.vendetta-online.com/h/news.html
License tests are now both free and automatic, once you reach the necessary skill level you are given the associated License.

I disagree. IMO pirates keeping an artificially low level is basically an exploit, and I'm glad they made this change. I'm also glad they took away the XP penalty for PKing somebody lower level than you who participated in CTC.

Serious botters are annoyed at this as well.
why?
Because weapons license level soar high, and weapon levels affect your missions. Basically we were hoarding XP and not levelling until we were past the level we finally wanted (10) and then got them all at once, simply because at level 4-5 you have all the ships and weapons you want.
irritating. :)

With the license test fees now removed, what is there to cost a player any significant amount of money? I can foresee Vendetta space bucks devaluating at an astonishing rate (again) ...
PS: Must I have my ship repaired when i dock, how do I know its not some cowboy repair-shop? ;-)

Well said Icarus, the cash is now worthless if your not going to have to spend it on a license test, it needs to cost something and/or you could have to do a mission for it also, just a thought.
I like the idea of auto repair when you dock, I can't count how many times I have left the station to only go back and dock just to repair, THX
Syberfly out

Soon (tm) there will be plenty to spend credits on. Capital ships, stations, etc. In the meantime, yeah, we'll all get filthy rich. But I wouldn't be too surprised if the devs had something in mind for us to spend credits on.
yeah im glad they made the chnge of automatically repairing. Ive gone to a station to repair and gotton sidetracked by chatting then left and goin on a trade run....not a plesent ending :P
I am of two minds about the license tests not costing anything, and being automatic.
First, having them automatically occur will be nice because it means you dont have to intterup a mission for them.
I dont agree with spider concerning his reason, because that activity struck me as semi-exploit. Leveling is supposed to be on a progressively difficult scale, so being required to go after progressively larger groups of bots is a good thing IMO.
The problem with having them occur automatically is that they HAVE to be free in that event. If they werent free then leveling could cause problems for players who are saving cash for something else. (or just because they want to see what its like to have 10 million credits)
Since i feel that the levels should have some monetary cost, this bothers me a bit, however on the whole i think i like the change.
(incidentally what about those of us who spent all that money getting the levels we have? do we get a refund :):):) )

I think free is fine. They can always come up with something to buy later. I also think that if people have way too much money then they aren't dieing enough. FIGHT more, try harder and I doubt spending money will remain a problem. If you have too much cash you must be boring or run away too often...or you have the luxury of playing hours every day. They are plenty of poor people in the current universe.
I like the auto repair, but the licenses I am not so sure.
To me getting the license should not be automatic, but thats just my opinion. They should be required to take a real test, ex. Killing 5 Orun collects without docking to get the lvl 1 liscence or something.
But I can live with it.

Hey Hoax, I'm dead rich! So how does that fit in your theory?
Uh, well my theory isn't that there are no rich people. Your statement doesn't prove your not boring and I don't know how often you die. You tell me. I'm guessing you fit into the boring part though. ;)
ed. g1v3 monys plz!
ed2. Besides my theory is based on rather limmited evidence, that being ... me.
I can only play a little bit at a time and every red cent I have has gone to licenses. I was not looking forward to springing for the even more expensive high level ones. It takes me days of short sessions to trade up my bank account to level after days of botting. This != fun. I just want the rich people to be aware that there is a scale here and for some playing styles money is still pretty hard to come by.
ed3. >With the license test fees now removed, what is there to

This was only a temporary expense anyway as I assume most people will ride the bot leveling treadmill only as long as they have to to get what equipment they want. It seems many people stop activly seeking levels once they are in thier 'comfort zone'.
Really the solution is having FUN things to spend your money on isn't it? You already have to work pretty hard to get a license, the money is just insult to injury.

i guess its the difference between PvP'ing for the hell of it and PvP'ing for a specific purpose. Are guilds going to be simple associations, simply sharing info or are they going to become almost political/corporate groupings? If its the latter then there need to be ways to financially hurt your opponent.
Is it worth pirating a player with low value cargo if everyone has x million credits? Why do ships have credit values, why isnt everything free? For many players the fun element is beating a player with more experience/money, feeling that the last PvP battle actually meant something...otherwise vendetta is space-quake...
these are issues that no one player can decide on, its down to the view the devs have. It also encompasses a lot of the stuff coming out, do we want to see everyone in the galaxy with a cap ship or should it be rare?

Ohhh, can I play too, Sun Tzu?
And, breaking in between you and Hoax, I often find myself in the same position as Blaise Pascal. "I have made this letter longer then usual because I lacked the time to make it shorter."

I found your stats. You have 29 missions completed. Where's my money?
Bad Rogue! Giving away the answer spoils the game.
No problem, Hoax seems to be interested only in the number of my deaths. Even though it is quite considerable and easy to find, i will pay him 1k per death if he posts the answer before today 10 pm GMT. No other players are allowed, even those who are capable of quoting jansenists about such a silly bet :)
Just because I can goof off all day at work writing long boring posts in Vendetta and Anonymous Cowarding Slashdot to death doesn't mean they won't notice if I start playing video games.
I'm actually not interested in your stats at all I was just trying to respond to your vague post in a humorous manner...so much for that I guess. I'm not sure if you disagree with what I wrote or not.
I guess your trying to say that money is easy to come by and licenses should cost money and you don't like me =) OK, I'll see how that fits in with my theory.
p.s. your number 48127, 25 deaths, give the money to Icarus next time you see him.
I'm 4685 if you want to spy on me.
I feel like "The Prisoner" now...
Where am I?
In the Village.
What do you want?
Information.
You won't get it!

No, I think it's just caffeine plus a disorganized mind. That's a great quote though!
ed. 2 This post would make more sense but it's out of context now that posts above it have been deleted...
