Played elite on most machines, However elite 4 was actually announced over 2 years back and has not been updated for a long time
played first version of Elite on ZX Spectrum+
In the honour of that great game, we've setup the Elite guild in the very first day of Vendetta Gold.
the guild now has almost 40 members of all nations.
i would hereby like to take the opportunity to invite randomizer as a new lieutenant and recruiter of the guild, and also all those interested in joining the guild as members (future council and lieutenants).
The guild is now acting as a helper guild, introducing new players to the complexity of the game. In the near future, as the game progresses we will setup our mission and goals as a Guild, in the honour of the ancient guild of Elite players.
We already have setup a dynamic and interactive website that is ATM open for members only and not public until all features and aspects are well settled.
please contact me ingame if you are interested. i will also watch this thread.

Elite (/me gets on knees and bows head)
Elite on an Acorn Electron. I remember my older brother punching in the code for Elite. He spent days inputting the game code. After he finished he played it 24/7. It took me weeks before I could get a chance to play it. Following that we had a Spectrum and then we had a C64. We upgraded the tape drive to a floppy! (Latest tech. WOW!) lol. I then went for an Amiga 600 and found an amazing game 'Vikings, Fields of conquest' RPG. That was my first real game that I played constantly for 48 hours. Sleep?? What is that?? lol
Within seconds of stumbling across VO earlier in 2004, I phoned my brother at his office. "Bro, guess what? You remember Elite? Well I've found this site......"
See you in game!!
Joy joy joy, fun fun fun! :oD

man we need docking computer in vendetta:)i played it on c64
I first played it way back on an Acorn, then on my father's PC-AT and PC-XT... I've played it on and off for the last 15 or 16 years, from the old wire-frame to the newer solid-poly (*GASP*) versions... The last time I played Elite was a solid-poly EGA version I had, and I used to play it on my laptop in grad school and after I left school last year. Fun stuff.
Elite still ranks as my favorite computer/video game of all time.

Still got my Elite badge, BBC micro
I played Elite on my MSX2, did most of the missions (I believe there were 12 or so and they were hard to find), and got all kinds of military grade equipment for it (I don't remember my rank anymore though). In my Win95/98 days I played Frontier First Encounters and also liked that, especially that you could land on planets. When I switched to Linux I found Vegastrike but that's in development for years now and progresses really slowly (you can't really play it yet!), so when I found Vendetta yesterday I was very exited and installed it immediately.
First played Elite on the Spectrum 48K - complete with the anti-piracy thingy that was /really/ annoying.
Mid nineties when we had a NES I got a copy for that to.

C64, Elite was the game that eventually caused my parents to worry about me using too much time in front of the TV.
They ended up buying a new TV :)
By the way, what was that fluffy monster thing called that proliferated uncontrollably?

/me is ashamed of his non-eliteness. But /me remembers a fluffy cute monster thing from Star Trek the proliferated uncontrollably... TRIBBLES! TRIBBLES FOR EVERYONE!
I played it on an Apple //. Wow, surprised no one else had ;)
I've played Elite on a BBC Micro, an Amstrad CPC464, an Amiga 1200, Atari STE and PC over the years.
Been waiting for a MMO that comes even close to it and still can't quite believe I've found it in Vendetta Online. This game seems to be a far too well kept secret. :p
