Mind divulging what they are? Weren't they those sissy bots we used to have?
"fembots" are in the Austin Powers movies.
Fembot: Fembots are good-looking hunks of metal, used to blow unsuspecting disillusioned men to bits. Austin Powers fell under this category, but he had wits too.
I'm not putting this in the original. It's stupid.
Also, on another note... when the game opens for server testing, I'm going to start a new thread and title it "The Player's Glossary" or something. So, keep adding until then, after that, I'll get FM to delete this or something... I dunno.

Fembots first appeared on "The Bionic Woman", a spin-off of "The 6 Million Dollar Man".
Ingame Business (Makchuga Interstellar Bar) - Celkan will sue.

superlube: intergalactic lubricant that can be bough alongside "vacation" holodiscs(ie. 1 night in paris).

"HELP" (followed by 10 minutes of silence) An over-zealous pilot that got her/himself in trouble and doesn't deserve someone to come to her/his aid.
idjut...someone that HAS to bump your ship around while you are typing or lining up a screenshot or just chillin.
[note to FM] my first recollection of a fembot was from Metropolis.

The false-Maria robot in Metropolis was named "Futura", and was never referred to as a fembot, at least not in the 1927 silent original. There have been several remakes, but I still maintain that 'fembot' is vintage 70's

Dictionary.com supports FM
And I see that a Fembot doll sold on ebay for $83.50
(Fembot is Bionic Woman's Enemy - Circa 1977 by Kenner Toys. Comes with Jaime Sommers' Mask, Mystery Lady Mask, Jump Suit, Tunic, Shoes & Paralyzer Gun)
Best $83.50 you've ever spent FM?
We should also note Frank Zappa's 1979 "Fembot in a wet T-Shirt" referencing the Bionic Woman.
Capek's R.U.R. was published in 1921, translated into english in 1923 and Lang's Metropolis premiered in 1927 so it is possible that someone could have coined the term at that time in reference to the film. Extensive googling, though, shows nothing prior to the B.W.
Unfortunately I lack a an O.E.D. here but I'll check when next at the library.

Waylonics: also known as Galactic Trade Standard (GTS), this is the strange writing you'll see in various places on the stations in space. Named after the Dev (see below) who created it.
Dev/Devs: Short for Developer(s), it usually means one of the following: either John "Incarnate" Bergman, Andy "a1k0n" Sloane, Waylon "El Guapo/Vlad" Brinck, or Ray "Raybondo" Ratelis individually, or all of them collectively.
Incarnate: John Bergman, the Managing Director of Guild Software. He is in charge of product oversight, design direction, etc. John's account, forum, and ingame name.
a1k0n: Andy Sloane, a programmer who wrote most of the network and server code among other things. Andy's account, forum and ingame name.
Vlad: Waylon Brinck, he created much of the artwork you'll see ingame. Waylon's account and forum name.
El Guapo: Waylon's ingame name.
Raybondo: Ray Ratelis, he is responsible for the bulk of the 3D engine, graphics APIs, and others. Ray's account, forum, and ingame name.
(The five about the devs were taken straight from the FAQ.)

With the server-testing close at hand, I figure we should complete this thread if we are going to use it to help newbies. Any late additions?

Will you pin this FM? I think this will help newbies a lot, along with the "Things to learn" thread in Role-playing. There ya go.
