- High-resolution planet textures, drastically increasing the visible detail of planetary surfaces.
- Totally new procedural nebula backgrounds with much greater resolution and detail. (Nebula development is ongoing).
- For the moment, these new textures and graphics are only available on PC platforms: Windows, Mac, and Linux.
*** Vendetta 1.8.258.1
- Fixes for Linux and Mac versions having no background nebulas.

Whoa! These were "Soon" agenda items
I was looking forward to the new textures, minus one snafu. It turned space pink. Sigh... submitted support ticket already.

Awww, MAN!!! Now I have to spend yet ANOTHER month touring the 'verse on a screencapturing photo shoot with lousy framerate from maxing everything. Anti-aliasing x8 is a bitch to fly with, but takes nice pictures :)
Can't wait to see all the pretty sights! go go Devs!

A lot of kudos goes to Curt for making all these nice new textures.
..and for not going insane while I've been continuously prodding him (over a lengthy period) to keep redoing them and making them better, trying different techniques and adding different elements :). I imagine he's starting to get a bit tired staring at nebulae. I have some specific visual goals I'm shooting for, and we aren't there yet, but this is a good step forward.
We're really happy you guys like it.

Wow, you guys are really picking up the pace.
Out of curiosity, when can we expect redone ship textures (like the one on the EC-108KS from the kickstarter)?

I knew you were an evil taskmaster! All great visionaries are.

Very nicely done for the backgrounds. The planets are not great but their probably a good middle ground.
I'm guessing you haven't turned your settings up.
Can't wait to get home and check it out!
Nebulicious!

How old is your video card, CD? O_o

Rey brother saw this and he was like "wait. These pictures aren't real?" So yeah. Good job, devs!
I propose guild software provide a paypal address for the sole purpose purpose of buying beer for them. I am sure I am not the only one wanting to buy Curt a beer. Also, tell Curt he owes me 400,000 credits...I have to warranty people against all these new nebulas... The least he can do is subsidize their cost a bit.
Nice job Curt.... So what did the rest of you do this week? :P
I'm glad all the children like the pretty colors. Now, when can we have a reason to play the game beyond Space Quake for Space Quake's own sake?
But seriously, nice job.
But even more super cereal, faction redux and some actual plot/purpose content is badly needed.

I suppose you could order a pizza and have it delivered to their office. :)

I have, but they still look like images that were "stretched" over a 3D sphere. Much better images, but still. hence why planets get a "good but not great" rating from me.
That said, I'm much rather have 120 FPS then super realistic mountain ranges.

Can your monitor even display 120fps?
We should all send the devs pizzas and have them be like "What the fuck?"
