That is not remotely true. All you have to do to get a new ship is to click the "Buy back last ship" button that pops up when you die. Then you click "Launch" and you're back in space. Maxx, on the other hand, has to actually travel back to the station and dock first.

i havent had a problem yet, the only problem i came across was if i was in grey space and i almost got killed by this one guy who was nice enough to ask for a small sum of credits to let me pass. Your not wandering around greyspace in a newbie ship are you? the grey sectors are the ones that are grey in the system map you should be careful of avoiding these places if you can if you are just starting out as you can get killed. if you stay in normal space you have less of a chance of getting killed. just some thoughts.

honestly i find the game a bit safer then eve online. eve onlines "null sec" space was pretty brutal but here you may run into some pirates but you have a chance of getting by as well. :-).

I thought this was why they installed the turrets on nation borders. They used to be fairly hard to get past, perhaps they should just buff the defense turrets.

As an ancient pirate, the best option is usually just to pay the pirate if you arent confident in your fighting or running skills. Pirates usually dont ask for much, and will often (at least they used to) actively protect people who paid up while they are in what the pirate considers "thier" space.

The turrets have become less of an issue than they used to be, due to various tactics for getting through them, but it's still more or less a dice roll as to whether you zoom away unscathed or get blasted to bits before your warp-in finishes.

Erm, no. Various tactics like waiting for the sector to go to sleep before attempting entry, riding in NPC capships, riding in player capships, or entering as part of a group of similarly disliked people.
