lol.
What stood out to me in Incarnate's posts is that what gets written on these forums is in ink. For any who doubt that: I've seen people indict this game based on a thread here from 8 years ago. I don't think it's too much to ask that we foster a sense of respect for each other. I can't be everywhere at once, but I can respond to something that's directly in front of me as best as I am able at that given point in time. Having a few small changes is better than having no change at all.
Lastly, this certainly doesn't do anything for my ego.

That's awful nice of you and all, but we don't give out green "PARTICIPATION" ribbons at this swim meet.

Just to be clear, this uproar lately is just over edited posts, right? Not completely deleted posts? Wholesale deletion is nearly always a bad idea and if that's what's been going on I can get behind a movement against it.
But if you guys are just complaining about the [pls no wirty dords guise! -SuperP] stuff, meh. I think it's sometimes silly and overdone, but it's not that big of a deal.

Is some light editing really enough for you all to loose your shit about this
By the way, +1 to Spence.

If that's really true, you're more short-sighted than I gave you credit for. Even if you could regulate everyone's behavior such that it's all "Dear Sir/Madam, I shall now fire at you until one of us doth explode," that "don't mean it's a good fucking idea."*
There are options for moderation that are somewhere between "unfettered chaos" and "dear sir/madam". Some of these options are often demonstrated by, say, every MMO that has a real budget. I think you're capable of perceiving more nuance than you're exercising with this response.
So, as I mentioned before, you're all still welcome to complain to me in tickets, as situations arise. But overall, I haven't seen a problem. Light editing of posts is not a big deal.
At the end of the day, the policies and enforcements here are a reflection of my decisions. The people I empower to act on my behalf are my representatives. If someone thinks a representative of me is taking actions I would not approve, or is acting in bad faith, I want to know about it.
..But if this is just someone's nose being out of joint because their favorite swear-word was removed from a forum post.. don't waste my time.
Speaking of time, I've dedicated more to this thread than I really had available to spend. I've offered a means of reporting to those who might find themselves treated unfairly, which is the most anyone is likely to get out of this discussion. I don't see further value in continuing the thread, so I'm locking it.
