It is like FAMY, their actions is that of the mob/mafia/organized crime. In the game they are just called pirates, or as they like to call themselves, warranty personal (sales, inspections, etc). Yet most people will just call them pirates (FAMY & RED), as that is the common terminology used in the game to describe the criminal element.

It isn't about not wanting a bad name. It's about keeping the meanings of terms distinct. There are already perfectly good and colorful terms for referring to bad guys in general, e.g. "outlaws", "villains", "lawless scum", "knaves", "ruffians", "scoundrels", "rogues", etc. There is no need to misuse the term "pirate" for that purpose.
Besides, mislabeling people like that just opens a window for them to argue with you and point out your error, which then detracts from whatever point you were trying to make in the first place. Much better to just be accurate and thereby not give the opponent anything to work with.

It's not a debate, it's quasi-roleplay political rubbish from TGFT. Debates have reasoned arguments supported by facts and judged by the observer.
Mick can't even support his statements with facts, he's a complete newbie to the game, he has no idea what he's talking about and he apparently will believe whatever ecka or some stupid traders in TGFT will tell him without any critical analysis whatsoever.

screenshots like that don't prove anything since they are easily faked, but the point is you are ideologically aligned with TGFT, rather than taking an independent viewpoint based on actual evidence, which is what informed people do.
Why does everyone wish I joined BRO rather than RED? I don't see much of a difference. Regardless of which i joined, I'd still be killing smurfs, and that includes TGFT.

@idd: Just to help you out when you watch the videos, my in-game charters are Mick the Mad UIT and Trader Jack. Just want to make sure you don't mistaken me for someone I am not.
You may of never observed a leader in your guild as having a standing with the serco nation at anything less than +600, yet as you point out to me, just because you say it does not make it so. When I was raising my standing, using an XC to do so, in Serco monitored space from Admired to PoS Esc and Mr. Chaos attacked me. At that time I noticed that Esc's standing was hated. That is why I was surprised that he did not end up as KoS with serco. I guess Mr. Chaos got the killing shot.
@all: As to Ecka appearing on the CtC list, I don't know the details. I do know that we are all human, even the bots have a human controller/programer, and mistakes are made. Heck, I got my only PK in an unarmed EC-89, without trying, just because I exploded from repeated, unprovoked, and undefended, attacks. Go figure.

It is theoretically possible. Say somebody else was attacking the transport but hadn't finished it off yet. Meanwhile Ecka was busy at the wormhole defending himself from somebody else (pirate, nationalist, hungry puppies) and the transport flew past him as he was lobbing his flares and took a hit.
