The only difference is you can't progress beyond licenses 3/3/3/3/3 which means you are restricted to certain ships and weapons, but the choice is by no means a small one, and you are free to make as many credits or go to as many places you like.

You can also visit the black markets at corvus in greyspace to purchase and equip weapons outside your license restrictions, but be wary, there be pirates out there, Yarr!

Ah ha that makes sense thanks, good enough to start off with then.. Then as I progress I can either take my chances with pirates or pony up some cash ;)

Looking forward to this being released on the iPad been waiting for a good 3D space mmo for ages to come out for it!!!

In-fact I wish I knew about the kickstarter I would have so supported it!! Didn't see anything about it on ios gaming sites.. Maybe doing a kickstarter just after Xmas it got buried..?

Some people seem to have a stick up their butts when it comes to supporting independent space games. In any case, we like the new trial -> $1 -> $10 sub pathway a lot better than the previous $10 per month straight up.

VO is the kind of game you have to play for a month before you discover what its really about so asking for the 10$ sub straight up wasn't previously an easy sell.

Hahaha...

Sold me easy enough, FPS space shooter MMORPG with Newtonian physics (almost)... what's not to love? :)

But, yeah, love the Lite Sub, and plan to use it as soon as the iPad port is released :)

Probably...
