I'm already saying as much as I can, perhaps more than I should, unfortunately. Every contract we sign has confidentiality, and most of these also have NDAs on top of them. I would very much like to get back to game development as well, since most of what I do these days is more like "electronics industry business development". I didn't start this company because I had dreams of doing relationship-management with other companies.
The deadlines themselves have also been shifting targets, as we're at the mercy of much larger players. I thought one major project would finish about a week ago, but then a giant company made a policy decision that impacted a bunch of other giant companies, and we're caught in the middle and have to quickly shift priorities to handle what crops up. Poor Ray has been working like 90 hours a week for the last month+, to deal with all these deadlines and various challenges.
I've mentioned already that our graphics guy is working on a bunch of areas, including visual effects and new factional/subfactional logos and the like. A lot of this time is just learning-curve, while he gets up to speed on all these different systems (like our particle/effects system), and so on.
So, anyway, as I said, I'll try and do something release-wise for Friday. I'll also look at potentially releasing some upcoming design and priorities for when this mobile stuff is a little more wrapped up (probably next week). I'm hoping we'll get back to more game-visible development a little later this month. However, I would not have been able to predict some of the.. fascinating changes that have altered our schedule over the last few weeks.

Keep in mind that this stuff has also allowed us to hire another full-time employee, and start working with an outside marketing company, and so on. So, while I am trying to explain where we've been and what's been going on, I still think our fundamental course of action has been the best for the game. Just not for the past few months of visible progress.
But, I probably could have done more to post and keep people informed and the like. It's a weird line to walk, in trying to say "Stuff is happening! I can't say what! Or Why!" while also knowing that any real gameplay stuff I bring up is going to be delayed until "Stuff" is finished, which is sort of a nebulous date.
Anyway, among other things I'm going to see if we can get some Events going in the near term. I'll do what I can to use what non-programmatic resources I have to elevate activity in the game.
And now I have to go prepare for a conference call, and then generate a bunch of marketing material to send to a giant company. Ahh, "game development"..

+1 to Yoda.
I am employed by a large company and, despite the fact that I have about 100 people , my department is considered small and "ancillary" (and yet indispensable). My monthly budget likely dwarfs what GSW has spent over its entire existence. I completely understand and respect Incarnate's work to optimize the resources available to him. He's doing an amazing job, and the fact that there is still a game and a forum in which to complain about it is a testament to his skill.
This is one of the best games I have ever played, and I will enjoy continuing to watch it make history. Take all the time you need; it will unfold as it's meant to.
Like I said, the fact that I still bother to log on (maybe not always as the name you know, but yeah) say's something Whistler and Phaser, I was not complaining, and neither of you can dispute what I said.
I really don't mean to sound whiny or needy, and I'm not asking the devs to do anything more than keep us up-to date a little more. I'm sure you both can agree that one of the things that got us all hooked was the dev feedback, and even getting to fool around with the "devgods" when they played.

Yeah, I hear & understand that.
The simple fact is this game has ruined all other games for me. It's not a bad thing, but I get bored of everything else really quickly. The framework you have built in Vendetta Online requires you to think and interact with people like no other game ever has before. It's the ultimate challenge.
All my criticisms should be considered in light of this. The greatest pity is that more people aren't able to discover it.

Alpha player here. Just stopping by to say GOOD WORK after all these years. My GF recently bought the new Lenovo Ideapad S2110 (S4 Krait with Adreno 225). Vendetta came preloaded on it.
I haven't tried it yet, but I will soon.
I also came here to remind you to use your newsletter/e-mail list a bit more often. I don't believe you sent out an E-mail on your 10th anniversary a few months back. I definitely think you can grab a few subs here and there if you e-mail at least once a quarter ;)
Again, good work. I'm looking forward towards seeing your game preloaded on more devices on the future. Hopefully these opportunities will finally allow you to "buy" the extra resources (talent) you need to create the game you envisioned over a decade ago.

Thanks much and welcome back. I am planning another newsletter soon, and I agree it's something we could make better use of. We did send one out for the anniversary, but even so, I'm aiming to work in more regular events and announcements and things, even when we can't say a whole lot about development.

Really? That's fascinating. Lenovo totally failed to tell us we were pre-loaded on that. Well, great! ..I hope (preferably not an ancient build from last year that's rough on our update servers).

Agreed. VO is unlike anything else.
lol

Lol, I tried to run the CD installer for fits and giggles, and no surprise, it doesn't quite work right. Heh.

Nice version: play the game and then You can comment about it. In the meantime, kindly shut up.

Obvious troll is obvious.
It may appear that little has happened from an outside perspective, however, there is a lot going on beyond that initial veil.

Perhaps, the emptiness of total vacuum that has been happening here transformed me from constructive person trying to suggest some major improvements into a half-blood troll.
At first, i was hoping that perhaps SOMETHING here can change, but I was totally wrong.
There really is **NOTHING** happening here, face it guys.
No wonder there are so many trolls and haters on the forums. The zero-point energy of nothing produces radiation which is deadly even to the hardest minds.

It doesn't really matter. Be thankful that the game isn't your burden then. It is a sad thing to curse something that has lived this long.
I continue to wish them well. I still think they have something special. But I do not play anymore either. So it goes.

Go back to what ever hell you escaped from PoL, your ideas are terrible (still) no one like them (still) and you are by far the most irritating person on the forums with the least knowledge of the game (still)... we may complain from time to time, but at least we stick with the game we love... knowing that someday things will happen. VO develops slowly... at least we don't rage quit when the developers don't implement our ideas. Now... go away.
"No wonder there are so many trolls and haters on the forums."
There is a difference between "trolls and haters" and people who realize your ideas are terrible. I say this bearing in mind that in the past you have referred to Phaserlight and Whistler as "trolls, griefers, closed minded in box thinkers..." and though I don't much care for them... the fact that you called them such invalidates the terms every time you use the.
Also... still waiting...
"I can easily name at least 10 advantages of implementing this idea EXACTLY the way i proposed. Can you point out the same number of disadvantages, or at least half of that number ? " http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/24824?page=1

@ryan
Oh whatever. I'm done being constructive person, so I will just troll some more.
