Vendetta 1.9 next please. Or I keep telling myself that when there is a large gap between good updates.
:)

Not a chance, they have to release 1.8.over9000.over9000 yet!

I remember this one time, there used to be small but continuous improvements to the game at regular intervals. Now it's just seems to be licking android ass.

May i suggest ye all buy android devices and go to Latos H2 : )

Heh. I was just wondering if they were still working on the game or not. I guess I'm not the only one who's noticed the absence of meaningful updates lately.

Well, to be fair, and I know we all want to be fair here, the explosions do sparkle a little more than they used to.

Android ass? This looks like Windows RT ass. Stupid OS that nobody even wanted...

My brother wants an RT phone, but then again I did beat him up for putting Vista on his netbook and saying it was cool.

So... uh. Where are the devs? Are they on holiday?
Sep 03, 2012 Death Fluffy link
They are obviously in seclusion, putting the final touches on the Milanar Expansion that is scheduled for release today. Included are 3 new Grey / Red systems featuring new bots. A super secret manufacturing station that allows players to construct Teradons as well as a new pet dragon that players can ride.

Yeah well, that's all very nice, but what about the space whales?
Sep 03, 2012 Pizzasgood link
A pet space dragon implies space whales, i.e. dragon food.

Inc did tell us what was going on in the News section

http://www.vendetta-online.com/h/news.html

When we're not harassing them for updates, we're harassing them to advertise. They've gotten themselves demos for Android devices, and now other platforms. There really isn't a better way to put themselves out there for the money. These efforts bring in funding for more game improvements.

The best way is steam.

Of course we harass them for stuff, that's what customers do, but VO is already lacking in endgame content so it's hard for people to stay interested unless new updates come through and we haven't had any gameplay changes since the faction redux which many view as incomplete.

Of course the updates are important, but this is not the priority for a small business that must innovate to continue to exist.
For the synth Origin, Arturia updates made once a year. The Minibrute is a new product more vital that Origin now.
Guildsoftware invites you to a pizza party for 20 years of membership, yet 10 years and I am eligible for the event.
You comes with me Pizzagood for this

17 more years for me... by then my currently fictional children will be pirating in Vendetta: The Next Generation.

Yeah, that wasn't really a "release", and not really intended that way (hence the fanfare of the announcements I didn't make). It was more of an "oh crap, we have to hurriedly bring the production build up to date with the other prototype so we can blah blah stuff."

We've been stuck in one of those "Very productive, not a lot we can say" kind of spaces over the last while. I will say that, among other things, Ray has been doing some major re-working of the game engine for scalability and performance (and before someone screams at me about relative priorities, this development is being.. subsidized). So you can expect heavy threading enhancements and rendering architecture changes later this month. We even discovered a bug buried deep in the physics system, so some longstanding problems might be addressed too.

Ironically, the goal of all these changes is to have things look completely the same as they do now, but maybe a bit faster on some systems. But they do put us in a much better position to also make things look cooler, which as I've mentioned previously, is a priority for this calendar year.

We also have a whole laundry list of game changes to make, as soon as possible.. from crafting out of inventory to Deneb improvements to a million other things. We are also actively developing new graphics. But while both the coders are temporarily occupied 110% on background tasks, my ability to direct changes to gameplay is a little limited. Still, I'm hoping I can do something for Friday.

well...you really should make something like a 'this is what we are currently doing...aside from our super secret tasks'-list on this site. With completion state (maybe even on the super secret projects...). Just so we know what is going on there.

Currently I can't stop but think that you are all sitting there and playing on some nice version of VO which you don't want to release...just because. ;)
Sep 05, 2012 yodaofborg link
Well, no offence Inc, but I wont hold my breath. Sure I still play VO after all this time(contrary to Ecka's beliefs), so that's got to say something. But it has been a long time that us "players" have seen something new AND worthwhile in the loonyverse.
