I've got a log with a pair of players PM-Spamming me, who do I send it to?
Normally i just ignore it, but this is extremely excessive...

Did you try not pissing people off?
Actually, This was on a character that was brand new, and has hardly done anything provocative. Your post is not helpful.
"hardly" ?
Seriously, send the logs to Guild, and they may get a chance to deal with the people. To be honest, they're very busy with development, and community management is not their highest priority so the best you can expect is a "maybe" on whether or not they'll be dealt with.

Do to them what I did to you : /ignore them.
Hunter has good advice, but is in too much of the flaming mood.
Uh, seriously guys, I couldnt keep up with the new names they were making....
the bad part /ignore doesn't filter out accounts, or multiple accounts, or IPs. so if you make a character with random letters like:
ahteuioaeryhrcebyqwetpypqwybqptq
then do
/msg aliencharacter <beep>
alien does:
/ignore ahteuioaeryhrcebyqwetpypqwybqptq
spammer deletes char, creates a new one, then repeats the process.

There should be a limit on how many characters you can make in a given time period... That'd get rid of that problem... Make it like 5 per day or something, so any normal person wouldn't care, even if they wanted to try all three nations, but it'd make multiple account spamming a heck of a lot harder...
There should be a lot of things.
We need to take our job as testers much more seriously, and these things will cease to happen.

Agreed. These are the kind of problems the community will face, guaranteed, the very day the game opens to the general public (and yes, I know it's technically, blah blah blah, you know what I mean). How about 4 accounts on the first day, one every five days thereafter. In general, though, let's have a brainstorm on community issues, and how they'll be handled. I'll start it now. We need to bring up every possible issue, and to do so in depth, going to the extremes of antisocial behavior. Take something to it's logical conclusion.
Thats an interesting idea: /ignoring entire accounts rather than individual characters.
Yes, agreed, I'm suprised that is now how the function is implemented, and not ignoring a specific name.
It's because, for some reason, one character cannot know the account name of another. If ignoring accounts was implimented, the /ignore list would show account names, and that would break the scheme of not knowing.
No, the player's account name could be stored in someplace/some form that we could not read it....
I think it could be done. When I have to /mute somebody, I need only type in the name of the character online at the moment to /mute all the characters on that account.
Also, why are ignore lists not stored Server-side? I have multiple machines, and it's very annoying to have to type the players names that I know I don't want to hear anything from.
If it did get implemented it would be nice to have both a mute char and a mute account. As the game become more and more of an RPG people will have chars with different personalities.
Secondly: The abuse that alien was supposedly receiving was completely out of line.
The person/persons first attacked him in public chat using mostly sexual comments and profanity. Then (according to him at the time, I believe him, devs should check their log) someone created a new char and spammed him with msgs calling him a fag.
It's not the devs job to control the community, but that kind of abuse and purposeful circumvention of /ingore does need to be dealt with.

actually to let everyone know it was me spamming alienb, :D heh........ but anyway i know i shouldn't have spammed him but hunter alpha was right he was really pissing everyone off. I forgot what it was but it's sort of like he asks for it, whether he's egging people one when they can't kill him or whether he's nuking and mining, it just seems like he wants to be ignored by everyone. So sry alienb but really it's a game, not a place to piss people off.
Oh and using "sexual comments" i really don't think i said anything like that, in the pm i might have said fag but not in the public chat, so unless i'm proven otherwise don't accuse me of "sexual comment's" i don't live in that kind of life style. phft.

What a coincidence! There is another thread in this forum written by somebody with the same name as you, Jm262. You should read it. It's about banning spammers.

Incidentally everyone, calling a user a "fag" would be considered verbal abuse, both in the forums and within the game (whether publicly, teamchat, or msg).
