I figured that each square represented 250,000,000,000,000,000,000 players.
Are you sure they don't represent the amount of coffee each of the dev's have had during that time period?
looks like most of players aren't familiar with math and geometry at all.. lol, and they are called spaceship *pilots*.
shame on you
shame on you
..."claim that each color is one user"...
Good idea.
The reality is, that either metric could be used, and while not always precise, still way too close to the truth. There is little on the scale to prove my assertion wrong, and even less to prove your's wrong.
User per color it is then. I stand corrected.

Impressive lack of Math skills...
That is a 'capped' graph, intentionally crafted to make impossible have direct measures to it, only relative variations.
Make the smallest number in series just above horizontal axis and all absolute information is gone. That what is done.
It makes impossible to know if VO had 1...50 players, or 50...999 or whatever 2 numbers where x2=x1+(Delta Variation)

somebody just needs to have 10 active characters, all log off at exactly the same time, preferably when the level is already low, that'll create a cliff that can be used as a rough measure.
You are assuming that the scale is linear and not logarithmic or exponential or some other "expressive" formula. There is nothing to indicate what formula the scale uses, or that it even uses the same scale from one moment to the next. For all I know, the number of players is multiplied by the time of day.
I appreciate that not everyone agrees with the fact that the "player density graph" does not currently show absolute counts.
However, Roda, it is not acceptable for you to intentionally mislead new players by implying interpretations that are incorrect. Do not do this on my forums.
The graph is linear, it's the exact same graph we use for monitoring, with the numerical scale removed. Common sense pretty well dictates this. Concocting sarcastic low-ball interpretations of the graph data is little better than implying the source data is intentionally false to begin with. It isn't. It's current, and linear. It shows the relative density of players online, by nation, that's the point. Get over it.

..fine.
