Well I was thinking of resubing for atleast a month because of all the updates and what not, but then I saw the active players list. Its now some kind of graph with no type of measurement on the Y axis, as in there is no way to get an actuall estimate of the number of people online at those times, for all I know the peaks could be 10 people.
So am I doing something wrong to the point were I cant see the increments that should be there, or am I right in saying that the Active Players tab is useless with a broken graph.

if an apl and a graph is the clincher keeping you out of the game you should go play Microsoft excel.
The graph is just a means of showing the flow of players of x time. Not a way to count them

Well if you must know, its not the sole reason thats keeping me from the game, but it is a contributer, you see its hard to play an MMO if there isnt a solid consistant player base thats big enough to inhabbit the game.
Of course this is bordering on personal opinion/playstyle, but I dont see the fun in massive Border Skirmishes with 200 enemy npcs(estimate) and about 4 enemy players(my experience on my last month of play).
I guess all im really asking for is a ball park estimate, if possible of course, of the average players online. And if someone does happen to have a number you can -1, leaving CrazySpence of the count since im wondering about the actual players not forum trolls.
As far as this goes "The graph is just a means of showing the flow of players of x time", yeah thats dandy and all but as I mentioned, if the peak flow of players is 10, thats a pretty small number for the size of this game as well as the amount of player driven mechanics.
Thanks.
P.S. - As a side note, another reason I try to stray away from low population MMO's or games in general is because it increases the percentage of antagonistic, and infectious people such as your self CrazySpence who ruin communities.

Its so true! i once saw him single handedly burn an entire island in volcanic lava type fire rocks on Fairy Princess Pony Riders Island! it was epic, like 7 zillion people quit playing that day!

Let me guess, you picked Napolean as a name for your schlong, too.

Napoleon was actually much taller than people think he is, look it up foo.
here is your poney, WoS!
Napolean, 30-80 players are on at any given time. Fortunately, many of the trolls only troll the forums these days.
Underneath the graph is a key, that shows what the colors mean. Since there is not a separate key for units, then the height of each little square in the key should be interpreted to represent one player.
The height of the square in the key has absolutely nothing to do with the number of players it represents; it is purely a color block, to show which nations are represented.
Thank you, my question has been answered.
The squares could not ever be the representation for one player, since the increments in the graph are smaller than the squares. If the graph was linear, you could use the height of the Unaligned curve to calculate total players, since momerath is currently the only Unaligned player that's usually on-line, I think.
Edit/disclaimer: Of course, that only allows for an estimate if the height of momerath's graph does actually accurately represent 1 player. As Alloh correctly pointed out, that is not necessarily the case.

Someday people will stop making this post.
Well I know that the height of the squares was not intended to represent anything.
I was only saying that it should be interpreted that way, do to lack of any better metric.

maybe if they added a scale to the graph, but I know that isn't going to happen.

They should have just removed the APL all together, maybe replace it with *buddies online* or some crap, but the graph causes more confusion than the APL ever did.

So even though the height is completely erroneous and has no bearing on anything, it should still be "interpreted that way"? That makes no sense whatsoever. No, it should not be interpreted that way. Please do not imply that to anyone. A lack of a metric does not mean one should start randomly inventing them. I mean, why not claim that each color is one user? That makes as much sense.
