I still like to barrel roll for assaults. Just get an X-1 with dual Gauss3 and 1 Gauss2, get up close rolling and take em out with two short tri-gauss shots, then turn to the next.

When fighting groups of mixed bots, just turn F/A off and backroll. Sometimes one will come from behind you to help and get a few lucky shots, but other than that...
