So, does this mean Serco can completely conquer Deneb if they capture all the sectors?
Also, what about that Itani station? Can it also be conquered and turned to Serco?

Hm. At this rate, there won't be any major new features left to put in 1.9.0. :-D
Also, a 10M update? Did we get some hidden goodies?

Currently the skirmishes are in empty sectors only and have no other effect than changing the color on the navmap. We're getting there, though.
Do we now get free repairs, even from stations, if doing BS?
You get free repairs in capships and ship replacements when you die if you're homed at a station that offers the mission. There's no free repairs in stations right now; how would you suggest we handle that exactly?
Presumably the same way you check if they get a free replacement?
The replacement is only free if you're blown up in the BS sector; we don't (and aren't likely to) track where all the damage to your ship was done. As it is, you could take the mission, go do something that doesn't involve the mission and then go to the mission sector and repair in a capship, but that seems like a much more minor exploit than letting you do the same, but repair in stations.
What's up with this, i was doing a skirmish, and won, but it didn't change colour on the map?
There was a bug preventing that from working when the first two finished; I hotfixed the bug and manually updated those sectors. If anyone runs into this again, let me know.
Tried it out a bit, here's what I found:
In a Large Skirmish my fps was borderline unplayable. It would vary between 20-30 fps, which cause fights to look like they were being sped up by about a factor of 1.3 or 1.4. That probably would have been acceptable if I had flares and wasn't relying on energy, but aiming energy at anything, let alone a valk, with that fps is pretty much impossible.
The Small Skirmish had a much better fps, over 150, and was therefore much more playable. I ran into the problem that I was the only red player against what appeared to be all of Itan, but that's nothing I can blame on the devs.
The last problems I ran into had to do with buybacks. First of all, buying my ship back was indeed free, but buying my cell and guns back wasn't free. While the ship is indeed the most expensive part, buying back weapons can get extremely costly, especially if you are in a bomber (I wasn't). Secondofly, the total price of purchase was shown in my chatbox to be the price I would have paid had the ship not been free. If the ship is free, you should probably change what it tells you so people aren't confused about whether or not they just paid for their stuff.

oh shiet, I had a cool idea for buybacks-
one thing vendetta online doesn't have is 'premade' ships. We always have to pimp them out ourselves, and that is a good thing. I just think that we could make it...
MORE LIEK EV.
No seriously.
In this case, national ships that are mass-produced for the military. Either free for BP, or simply really cheap. (to clarify- an itani cent with neutrino's and a medium engine would be sold bundled, either free during the mission (maybe not even available to see during outside of the mission- it could be handled by a BP accomplishment that is taken away at the end of the mission.)
just woke up, I'll post to suggestions when I can open my eyes fully.

Wow. Just wanna say great job on everything, devs! The rate of progress over the last 6 months has been astounding! It looks like those 3 years of fixing-stuff really were worth the time effort, and everything is falling into place really nicely. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Impressive
Hurray! It seems like you'll need to think up extra stuff just to fill in the updates all the way up to 2.0..
I only played for a moment but it was pretty cool, Deneb looks like a game of tetris
I hope there is a nice web stat page that comes up eventually this could resurrect the kind of brutal nation to nation competition and bragging that the universe hasn't seen since CTF!

Good progess. I have favourable reports sent to me by my relatives from deneb;
"Deneb looks like a game of tetris"
... so the music in Deneb should be changed to electronic versions of Korobushka/Korobelniki?
