As the pictures show, this was wicked fun.
Notice the FPS in the top left corner, still I had a good time. Now I'm ready for a faster machine (Currently using 1.5 gHz powerbook with GeForce FX Go5200). Thanks to all who participated, this is what VO is all about (minus the horrible framerate). Grats to the devs, I can tell this gameplay will be a hit.

Hehe this looks awesome. Wish I could participate... :(
Jesus super christ!
My trailers satellite connection would choke to death on that. How long did the super battle last? Maybe i'll go home to the speedy cable connection next week to play...heh

Are ship replacements really free? Can anyone confirm this behavior? I was killed a few times only to see the "purchase last ship" message, upon which it deducts a large sum from my account. Is this normal? The station I am homed at is where I signed onto the mission. Does the ship replacement only count for certain ships and setups?
Having played in a few of the skirmishes, I am not sure I am fond of unlimited free ammo. In my opinion this reduces game play and promotes players to rely on a wash-rinse-repeat strategy for winning: dock, refill/recharge, charge enemy capitol ship, fire, run, repeat. Destroying the capitol ship nets the most number of casualties, and prevents enemy players from refilling their missiles. Why bother fighting one-on-one when that's what it takes to win?
Possibilities:
* if ammo is to be infinite, it should come at a price.
* if ammo is to be finite (say, only 200 refills available depending on the ship size), it could be free.
Of course you can't stop people from using missiles/rockets, and that's not the intent. A significant against a missile spammer is that eventually he runs out of ammo. Once the missiles are fired, the capitol ship basically doesn't have any defense against them excluding the shield.
I understand the dynamic warfare is new and improvements will come. My home is that my comments help towards that improvement.
(Please feel free to interchange missiles and rockets where appropriate)
