I'm curious about how to dig this stuff out of the media file... I've wanted to stick the songs on a music player for a while. Any idea how/has anyone already done this?
Thanks.
Thanks.
It's not done.
But there are few people who have the files from other source, ask around.

That is the URL to download the file for all of the music. It downloads directly from Mick's computer so it will be slow
Sorry if it is the wrong URL, let me know if it is :-)

Isn't that music copyright-protected by former investors of GSW? I don't mean to be a spoilsport, but you might save GSW some trouble by *not* distributing it.
But I'm not sure, I forgot the details.

That's what i thought too and why i didn't post the link to it.
Above link is down btw, unless devs say it's ok.

I believe that all music files except for ambient7 are licensed to Guild Software by Strategy First for use in the game only. I think that we are officially discouraged from extracting the files.
Ah.. ok then. Was curious.
What? Spedy and FusionBurn are two different accounts?
More money for the devs, sweets.

Totally threadnecro right here, but does anybody have a link to the music? I've been looking around for a while now with no results.

I don't think it's available, yet. One day, perhaps.

The tracks can easily be extracted using alsa input recording software on linux.
Copyright schmopyright, if you want to listen to them on your mp3 player nobody is going to even know.
stupid copyright nazis!

Those tracks are crap, why listen to them unless forced. On the other hand ignoring phaserlight and whistler is important to being a true vo netizen
So go ahead

You could do it the red spy way... or you could track down the black magic ritual described elsewhere on the forum that lets you extract them directly from media.rlb.
I disagree that VO's music is crap. But I can only stand listening to the same thing for so long before it starts giving me a headache.

Thanks RedSpy!
I'll give that software a try, just gotta download a Linux ISO again...
Give me an hour.

Try Audacity and if that doesn't work see if you can figure out GLC. I know GLC will work for sure but that option will be more fiddly so see if you can setup Audacity on linux to record your output directly.
Good luck.

I don't see why you'd need to specifically use Linux to record it. Just grab some free audio software for whatever OS you normally use and set it to record from PCM.
Oh man I have such a hard time finding my way around Linux....
I copied the media.rlb to my desktop and have a full working copy of the game installed.
I can't really find Alsa Input Recording software....
I really want to extract the raw data the way it was encoded. I don't want to make recordings. OGG files play in pretty much any media player. Does anybody have a link?
Is this breaking copyright?

It's edgy, but it would definitely be bad if you distributed this to anyone. I'm not sure if it breaks the copyright as you do pay for the game... but I'm not sure.
