so if somebody kills off all the escorts for you, then you get their shares too?

So, if I kill the hogs and vults, I get more monies? k. can do.

Also, I'm not seeing any value to having the group continue past the mission on escorts. Just my view.

It's nice if the group was pre-existing when the mission was taken. though there are some bugs with that... I've posted to the bugs forum.

Any chance of making the 2 kill rule exclusive to the trade ships in a voy? I'm just saying....

You don't get more if the NPC escorts die; the number of slices in the pie is determined at launch time.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If someone blows the NPC escorts away in the first sector, and the escorter single-handedly ensures the cargo ships reach their destination, why shouldn't the escorter receive all slices of the pie?

The corporations running the escort missions are greedy?

To prevent people from trying to ensure that they are only ones getting money?

Well, when I go on one of these dangerous escort missions I usually talk to my lawyer first to ensure any money that's coming my way gets to family or close friends in the event of my untimely death. I can only assume the NPC's have similar dealings with their lawyers or whatnot...

Just like in RL, if you go to war and die your income doesn't just disappears, it goes to your next-of-kin :)

If you go to on a job where you're being paid for providing services over the course of the job, and your early death prevents you from providing any of those services, your next of kin will not receive any payments (absent some insurance agreement) because your estate never received any payment because you were not alive to do the work to earn the payment.

'kay, well, escorts are moving towards more of a flat-rate-per-unit-time with bonuses for combat and hazards anyway, so hopefully that circumvents this whole "pie division" discussion.

I'm with Lecter on hogging the pie. I had great visions of group poaching Voy guards for credits. Bummer.
