what does it matter if the homing in s18 is removed? it's easy as pie to get back. i do it in my centaur all the time with no problems.
independence, please read messages from before. it is also easy as pie to stock up on special ships by buying a special, taking it to 11, buying a bus, exploding, coming back to 18 automatically, repeating. for more reasons, please be so kind and read comments posted here already and think about it.

You can alter the weaposn, the ships, or the ability to home in s18 all you want, but Vendetta will be spacequake until there's ACTUALLY SOMETHING ELSE TO DO! (/me waits for 3.3 eagerly)

No offense to anyone, but...
Is it just me or is this whole discussion completely irrelevant to the Vendetta Test? We know that there will be a huge penalty for dying introduced at some point in the game. "Homing" in s18 is only a problem now because you can /explode to warp back instantly. But that wont always be the case... I would assume that as the game advances, your "death" would impair you quite a bit; meaning to home in s18 would put you at a HUGE disadvantage.
So the real question is "does s18 homing cause a significant problem? Enough so that we should distract the devs from real development?" I vote no.
