I'd say don't tank. I dont want to have to grind to raise cash for ships. I just want more traders in grey, so I suggest raising grey profits until they flock to grey. Since our player base is small, I think that the juicy grey routes should have a single corvus station or WH as a choke point. This way our limited pirate population might pose a credible challenge to the traders.

Well, I'm not looking at tanking anything in the immediate future. But at some point, I'll probably reduce some of the non-gray profits to help push home the point of "best profits in grayspace!" But, no rush. Some of the new routes are very profitable, although we do need more of them. Still, some people are always going to go "why risk piracy if I can trade for a bit less in safety, or take high-payout escort missions". Everything else has to be re-balanced as well. Hence the work in progress.

Since almost all the peak "gray" routes presently are in Odia, that leaves some fairly apparent choke points. Still, I'm not sure how much people are using the new routes.

The most sure way to increase the use of new grey trade routes is to advertise! May I suggest taking out an ad in the TGFT trade journal "Outrageous Profits." Contact agent davejohn. He may also have a professional opinion as to the effectiveness of these new routes and their popularity.

Safe routes are for NPCs. Make it such that once trading XP reaches a particular level, a player can find fewer and fewer routes available. "They have all been taken already, sorry..." Such the he/she is left with a few weak profiting routes in nation space and many lucrative routes on the fringes of civilization...
