Ya... Tak made a very interesting comment yesterday.
"All the blues seem to use the same ship and guns" -Tak
"What ship/guns is that?" -me
"Vult with dual gauss" -Tak
It appears that a lot of blues are using the valk less.
This was particularly funny because one of the ships we were fighting was a tri flare ramming red valk, among others.

A new, popular and extremely effective combination is vult with one flare and one tachy. But that's OT, let's find something to talk about to do with maurauders.

Go read http://vendetta.guildsoftware.com/?action=msgboard&thread=2088&page=1. The maud is ranked 4th in acceleration. That's WAY more than it should be.

Have not read all of the thread but just an opinion:

Yes - the marauder with a heavy engine, is pretty agilie...
But one cant say that 2 equal pilots in each of their valkerie/marauder, will result in a marauder going of as winner... A good pirate have *allways* could pin me down, with equal engines/weapons... *Allways*!!! Traders dont use heavy engine, unless they do this really slow config for "tricking" pirates into attacking. they'll go crasy on just one traderun from 14 - 18. Heavy/Heavy is soooo slow...

A bad pilot shouldn't be able to replace skills with a ship...

The thing is, if a pirate is in something like a Hornet (a fighter), then the trading ship can out-accelerate them. That's not good, now is it? Personally, I pirate in an atlas and find that I can *barely* catch up to maurauders, mostly because I use my special engine config. :)

Isn't the marauder supposed to be a trading/pirating ship? I mean, it is called a "marauder." Which is, as dictionary.com defines it: "One who roves in search of plunder. A pillager."

According to the description, it's a trading ship. After all, is a Centaur really anything like its definiton? How about a Centurion? It's more of a scout than a fighter... And the Vulture isn't much of a scavenger.
