I've been Serco from the beginning. I patiently await for the tide to turn.

So have I.

For what it's worth, I prefer the race I chose on my trial too, even though it involved creating a new character.

I had originally chosen UIT, but it's small territory with lack of safe places to go kinda moved me to the Itani, who i thought were cooler because of the martial arts like stuff in the backstory and because of [ITAN] (who recruits every Itani encountered, no offense fellow guildies).

LMAO trolley. I like the friendly whale and pretty flowerpot background for the FAQ page - it's so... SERCO.

oh no. not again.

I think if we could understand why the flowerpot thought at all, we'd understand a lot more about the universe than we do now.

If there's an advantage to being on the side with more people, there'll be more situations where there's one side with more people.

The FAQ page needs work: On a low-contrast monitor (like the one I have to use at work), the red text is hardly legible at all against the violet/pink background.

hee hee

The 'lonely Serco' who stayed Serco and DID get highly skilled had a tendency to become 'Serco spoilers', ie play for their own, lonely, fun.

I like that line

XD

Also, think about how many people we have active; how many newer players keep coming. the more players we have, the bigger the nations will get. When the devs start advertising like you see for DragonFable and such, we will get loads of new players! I know it's not top priority right now, which is okay with me! Keep the updates coming! I'm kinda just glad VO is on the Apple website.

so, whales and bowls of petunias are serco, not hhgttg?

the trouble is, will the new influx of players choose faction in the same proportion? the likelyhood is yes.

If the defender is given an exponential advantage in the tides of war, and people join sides according to the current winning streak, then by Newton's method the difference in population of both sides will approximate zero over repetitive iterations.
Aug 06, 2008 toshiro link
I'm not entirely sure you can apply Newton-Raphson here.

I don't think giving defenders an artificial advantage is the way to go. That as dumb as golf handicaps. If it goes on like this, it will continue to be that the true, stalwart Serco remain Serco, and the untrustworthy, traitorous scum and villains all defect to the Itani side where they can be more comfortable with their own kind.

That printable FAQ is much easier on the eyes than the other one. Why not make that the standard version?

Professor Chaos, I must object to that generalization in the strongest possible terms. The "untrustworthy, traitorous scum and villains" do not all defect to the Itani side- the UIT, or more properly several fringe space corporations therein, are engaged in the active recruitment of said 'scum'. The combat skills and enhanced abilities of all Serco, current or ex, are in high demand for bodyguards, security personnel, dockworkers, and "contract enforcement officials".

We offer excellent pay and benefits to all enterprising individuals, regardless of current or former nationality. Applications are limited, and each corporation has stringent standards that must be met before employment- ranging from the extensive psychological and physical tests for TPG, to the approval period* of Corvus Prime, to the simple strength scale of Tunguska Heavy Mining Concern. BioCom is the current largest employer of Serco nationalities, and any newcomers will be warmly welcomed at their stations.

*Approval period starts when all applicants to a set of positions are locked in an armored room, and ends when the number of applicants is equal to the number of positions.

*mumbling about constant faction tax fluxuations and IRS's overall influence on them.*

Hee hee, sounds like commercial!

Hi all, very new player here, I ended up going UIT but I was going to go Serco but after seeing this post Im not so sure and thats why I chose UIT for my first character. On the other hand I am considering starting a serco character since I figure that will force me to get better at pvp?

No. Being Serco will force you engage in PvP more frequently and to do so against greater odds; whether it will somehow make you any better at PvP is an open question.
