I'm pretty sure it was Yoda, in a vulture, in the lower left corner of some Ukari or some such, yeah. I became a big fan of flares thereafter... once I'd stopped cursing ;)
[edit] maybe a Hog or an IBG, then... definitly something smaller that I thought would be less dangerous than it turned out to be, so not a valk or a prom. [/edit]

Sounds like Clue. Yoda in Ukari with a vulture.
One thing I'd suggest: Make taking the training missions mandatory for new accounts.
Not for alts or anything, which would be annoying, but every new account should be forced to take the Tutorials on at least one pilot before entering the larger universe with missions they aren't qualified to complete.
Perhaps also make a designated and well known "New Player Questions" sticky on the forums, and a channel for them in-game, so that we can consolidate and control them better than if we let them run all over. This will help keep veterans stress down, and also help get them answers quickly and give them a single place to look for advice before posting another one. Sort of like an evolving, game-play related FAQ. It might also be beneficial to place a link or some other sort of instructions on how to reach this thread IN-GAME when a new pilot account it created, this allows newbs who log-on to the game before the forums, to already know the threads location, and they can go there without needing their hands all held.

Twas not a Vult, I never ever fly Vults, but it was Yoda in something with flares. :)
I was actually glad you became a flare-whore :) Kind of made me proud to have known you through the years doc :)

hrm, can we set up a vo relay to channel 1? (if noobs still auto-join that. if not, Perhaps change it back this summer?) It'd be extremely helpful; People could help out noobs straight from IRC.
Could we also set up a way to station-camp n00blets via IRC? I would greatly appreciate.
tyty!

I will be as helpful to the influx of nooblets as most were to me and as I try to always be.
Hehe, I remember one night I was trying to help a nooblet that was speaking spanish...I had a translating program open in the background for when my basic spanish didnt help... :)

I'm usually very nice.
I also usually am no help whatsoever to new players. In fact, I think that through my years of VO, I've not really helped ANY new players learn any facet of the game, besides talking on channel 100.
Anyway, I think it's probably best if I refrain from using my gametime to help the newbies.
Unless the devs suffer a stunning lapse in judgement and make me a guide. Then I guess I'll have to be helpful. And not pirate them.
