The only time i think warp hopping is valid is when your a n00b on a trade run fighting to stay alive that has no money otherwise.... if you're a n00b capping the flag in a prommie.... why in the hell do you have a prommie? and why are you capping the flag?
I'm sure Celebrim has it all worked out already :-)
He has about 10 threads about it, don't worry. But don't do it. Fuel is evil. Make a special warp battery that takes 5 mins to recharge or something, but no fuel, I beg of you.
Fuel is evil. To me, it pushes the level of realism up a tad bit too much.
I support Phaserlight. Work within the game to fight what you see as "problems." Don't whine...just shaddup and do something about it (Phaserlight did and from what he says, it worked).
If someone on your team is doing something you don't like, discreetly tell someone else in another nation and then wander off, since you can't do anything anyway (if you actively work against someone on your team, chances are you'll be branded a traitor and end up with everyone hating you as well - I know I'd hate a tattletale as much as I'd hate the actual "exploiter.")

please please please no fuel.
Like stated, it proves only a problem when people have that little small glowing orb called a flag. So put in a timer for 5 minutes or 50 seconds before you are able to jump again if the flagflag is set :D
Now was that so hard, only a little bit of code extra when you are in possession of the flag.
Tss starting to work out an entire fuelsystem, tsssssss
cheers

No, it proves a problem for pirates too...
Wow, lots of hostility off that post.....
Anyway, I'm with Renegade here. We just need some way to prevent warp-hopping when you have the flag.
/me looks at the devs hopefully

Great, first people complain about "rocket ramming" (hint: If you're so close to your attacker that rockets he fires detonate instantly, you're too damn close) and now this. Has anyone stopped to consider that this "warp-hopper" is completely vunerable immediately after a jump when he has to wait for his bettery to charge? Why not just wait 'till he comes back, blast him a bit, and whittle him down that way? Better yet, get a teammate to go to the other side of the wormhole so that you can blast him on both sides. I'm really starting to get annoyed with all the whining I hear whenever someone uses a somewhat creative tactic.
Iguana? It takes as long for a fast-charge to charge as the invulnerability lasts. Maybe not even that long. So you're invulnerable when your battery is charged. As for rocket ramming, well, it's not your choice if you get too close. And creative tactic? Heck, there was an anti-warphopping thread (made about me and my test of the exploit with gold's flag) way back in 3.1.1something. It's not new and innovative.
Sorry for the flame. I didn't see that it was one until it was all finished. :( But there IS some useful info in there, and I haven't the time to extract it right now.

Ah. I didn't know that they'd put in invunerability when exiting wormholes. That seems to be a big problem with this game, the devs keep putting in "quick fixes" that cause more problems than they solve, which causes people to post threads like these to propose more quick fixes to counter the previous ones.
