question fo the devs(Who are oh so Uber in their ways):
On the bottom of the frigate about 2/3rds of the frig length towards the aft from the bow, there is a slot that if your ever so careful, you can slip in, Is this a docking bay?
When rogue gets the pics up Ill put up the site

Mwu hahahahahahha
I really wish the devs will post on this about this
Have patience...and get IRC...
Oh. Yeah, that's a docking bay. You just can't dock with it.
One idea for that is for the fighters to emerge from it. But it seems a little small for that.

Ouch, just stabbed hand with pencil.
SL whimpers.
a1k0n, couldn't you (or whoever the model designer is, forgot who) just resize that part of the ship a little bit so ships can come out easyer-ly
Also, is it just me or does the top long part of the frigate look like a launching pad? Maybe when the frigate explodes it can launch a few lesser ships, it'd be kinda like killing mama dragon and having her children going after you when you are weakened.

Escape pods! *drool*
And by flying one of these could be like frigate insurance and you can have a free new one!
mmmmmmm....Free Frigate....
Is it possible to make it so we can dock with the frig in 3.2.6?

Yeah, please? I wanna be able to buy furies there. :>
Remember that Atari game where you'd blow up the big flying banana peel, and the little flying banana peels would fly out of it and you'd have to shoot them?
Hm, I don't like the idea of docking in a ship. While I was there for the Rouge/Steve 9.0 suicide missions, it got me t thinking. What if someone was docked in there buying weapons, and it blew up? Do you lose a ship?
What if the ship is your home base? Can you not re-enter the game till it spawns? I know they could make a patch to make the frig re-appear instantaneously, but then what would be the point in killing it? you'd not be able to get the cargo.
I believe the frig should be left as a non-dockable NPC. The one thing I would change is give it a HUGE bounty and cash reward for killing it. And make it so you aren't invincible by being close.
As is, if you are in the bay, or withint 10 yards of the frig, all the bots stop shooting at you.
Give the frig it's own empty sector where it can slowly manuver and fight back better.

Well, they wouldn't let you home or logoff while inside it. Simple as that. :)
Yeah... I'm wondering how dockable capital ships will be handled. What if you're docked and the ship explodes? Will you die also? Or will you magically undock outta nowhere? I think that you can probably get away with disabling the set home feature for destructable stations (i.e. frigates), thus stopping the problem of how would you would reenter the game if you choose to log off in such a ship. And maybe if you die while docked, you'll be transported to the nearest or previously saved indestructable station. But the death will still count against you.
"What if someone was docked in there buying weapons, and it blew up? Do you lose a ship?"
Well, explosions are usually destructive.
"What if the ship is your home base?"
You'd probably default back to your home sector. If you were logged out last there, sucks to be you.
"What if you're docked and the ship explodes? Will you die also?"
I'd imagine so.
"Or will you magically undock outta nowhere?"
That would be like magic.

Either way would be fine with me. A bigger question is what happens when the guy that owns the ship logs out with you in it. It less of a problem if you are logged out, your ship just goes with the capital ship. If you are logged on, presumably you get dumped into space.

If the ship's hull drops below say, 5%, all ships need to undock and fight off the attackers. If the owner of the ship is offline, it becomes a "player name" bot. If the bot is destroyed, you lose your ship.
