Hello, we are building a MMORPG resource site and are looking for detailed information on certain features of this game.
I have gathered all the basic "facts & figures" including links, regional data, technical info, system requirements, subscription fees/payment types/client costs, developer and publisher info, development status, dates, languages supported, game engine type and quite a bit of other non gameplay stuff and I would like to request the help of players in gathering more indepth feature details, much of which I believe can only be properly understood from a significant amount of time played. With that in mind I would really apreciate it if you could help fill in any of the gaps below so that we can represent the game as accurately as possible.
Character development: Level cap? Are the classes/jobs tiered? Customisable or preset? Types of applyable points sytems?
Combat: Typical point and click queued spells or more interactive or twitch based?
Skills: Type of skill system, open/fixed, aquire skills by level or points or currency?
PvP: Consentual/open? Rewards and penalties? Any RvR/battlegrounds/guildwar type systems? Hardcore/light?
Social/community: Factions, guilds, raids, parties? Any limitations etc? Resource/land ownership?
Quests: Quality and quantity of quests, how indepth are they, how much a part of the overal gameplay are they, worthwile rewards, interlinked with lore well, are they fun or repetitive?
Instancing: Is there any instancing in the game and how much a part of the game is it?
Crafting: Type of craft system. How indepth and integral to the overall game is it?
Other: Any unique features not mentioned here?
Thanks for reading.

i am glad that you took the time to replace "GAMENAMEHERE" with the actual title of this game... yay for spam.
Damnit doak, you beat me to it.
I was gonna say I've never played GAMENAMEHERE, so I have no idea what it's like :P
Also, if you had gatehered ANY information WHAT SO EVER, you'd have most of the answers already.
I suggest you try again MelGMMO.
I will answer one of them tho': Unique feature!
We have more contact with the Devs, and they listen more, than all the other MMOs I've ever even looked at put togehter!

Eek, pardon the error :/
I have a few games to research so I prewrote the post. Anyhow, post edited.
I'm sorry if you feel this is spam but I'm looking for indepth feature information beyond the list of "facts and figures" we already have so that we can represent all games as accurately as possible and players are the only suitable source.

I think maybe your community might be best served by NOT presenting vendetta yet, as it's still undergoing so much development and perhaps isn't so ready for the masses yet.
Also, I still think you should read up on the game before asking, not just lie in your post and say you did.
Better yet, get a trial account.
IMHO, you're MORE likely to get "blurb", or otherwise unreliable information, from a lot of the players, than from the developers in this case. I suggest you contact the devs for info and get a trial account to see it for yourself.

Demonen, thanks for the feedback. I've actually edited my first post to offer some clarification. If you've still no wish to help, that's your decision :)
If anyone would care to offer any insights into the gameplay features listed that would be great.

Well, to start off with : the dev's don't want an influx of new players yet. They want to finish two or three large projects first. They'll contact you, so you might want to leave some contact infomation.
However , if you aren't going to upload it until the devs are ready, I'm sure we can explain the features in detail.

Damnit, the "Be nice" rule is keeping me from replying as I want to...
Anyway, it's absolutely 100% clear from your post, including your little changes, that you have not at all researched the game on your own. Do that first, then ask for details.

I agree tottaly with demonen, just reading http://www.vendetta-online.com/ can answer some of the questions on that list, and if you cannot be bothered doing even that much, well...
MelGMMO, perhaps do your own research? Play the game and come up with your own statistics?
Damn, my level 7 spell queue is out of order, lemme fix that... did anyone see my +6 Scimitar of Extreme Pain anywhere? Oh, right, I left it inside Smittens' skull... no prob...
Character development: No level cap. No classes/jobs tiering. 5 preset categories of level advancement.
Combat: Twitch based, levels have little difference on combat skill.
Skills: No skills. Level adcancement by XP point accumulation only.
PvP: Full, open non-consensual PvP, no "safe" zones.
No formal structured RvR/battlegrounds/guildwar type systems.
Social/community aspects include Factions, guilds, raids, and parties/groups.
No Resource/land ownership at this time, although it is planned (as in possible ownership of your own space station)
Missions are essentially limited and boring at this time, however a player contribution corps is allowed to design their own missions and those will eventually be uploaded to the full gameserver.
No crafting whatsoever. Although it is planned eventually.
(I don't know what you mean by instancing.)
Other: Economy will soon be dynamic, as in players can corner markets, crash prices, get rich or cause havoc in marketplaces.

There is no level cap and no class system. All characters may advance in any and all of 5 skills: combat piloting, light weapons, heavy weapons, trading, mining. Levels are measured in experience points per skill. Experience points are acquired by missions, profits, and kills.
Equipment availability is based on levels and faction standings. Competitive pvp equipment becomes available at relatively low level requirements.
Combat is first person shooter style (aka: space quake)
All areas are subject to non-consentual combat, although faction controlled areas may impose penalties (faction loss, automatic counter attack from faction launched strike forces, etc...)
There are large areas of uncontrolled space, in addition to ongoing factional war zones, that incur no penalty for non consentual combat.
There are three fixed super factions available to players and a variable number of player created guilds.
Ongoing piracy and anti piracy patrols can each vary from slight to rampant.
Current player base regularly schedules player run events.
The current mission system is limited and repetitive, and generally only used for level and faction standing advancement. Enhancements are planned.
There is no instancing, and all areas outside of space stations are subject to non consentual combat, at all times.
Crafting has not yet been implemented.

As the others said Mel, please refrain from posting this stuff for a bit...
Quotes from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vendetta_Online :
Character development: "Alternative and infinite advancement system that uses player-achieved licenses and badges of accomplishment to determine what equipment will be available for sale and what missions will be offered to players."
Combat: "Twitch-based combat engine, allowing players to fight using their own skill, instead of the statistics of their characters."
Skills: "Class-less character advancement system"
PvP: "Free, large-scale, extremely fast PvP, with the possibility to attack anyone (though doing so openly will incur the wrath of law enforcement groups) anywhere, capital ship combat, large-scale player wars, and large amounts of variation due to the large selections of ships and weapon loadouts."
Social/community: "The direct involvement of players in the game, through different possibilities, such as player-run events, and the Player Contribution Corps, a group of players that aid the developers by creating their own mission for the game."
Quests: "Dynamic mission system, in where missions often contain randomized elements, such as different NPCs, rewards or star systems. Missions work according to dynamic principles, such as varied victory conditions, varied resistance, and the possibility to solve the mission in different locations. Players will might sometimes find themselves grouped with other players as a part of the mission, and teamwork can be required for success. Furthermore, because of the randomized elements of the mission and the structure of gameplay in "Vendetta Online", players will never be offered missions that are completely identical to other existing missions ( a concept which is extremely common in most MMORPGs, where players might find themselves performing a non-repetitive task given by an NPC which was nevertheless carried out by another player minutes before, given by the same NPC), which contributes to immersion and suspension of disbelief."
Crafting: "A deep crafting system, allowing players to used mined materials to create goods, and sometimes forcing players to work in larger groups to construct large projects, such as space stations or capital ships." (Note: Under the word Planned)
Other: I'm guessing it took me about as long to read over the wikipedia entry for VO as it did for MelGMMO to check and respond to this thread. Seems to me he's either dim, or he's specifically after a player's words about the game. That being said..."

I've been playing this game for sixteen years, and I know more about it than the developers. Here's all you need to know:
Character Development: Characters in this game can choose from approximately 3.14159265358979353846264... initial classes, and pursue 2.7182818284... different skill trees from there. Leveling is done through a series of online tests, including most notably of which is mocking others through a cleverly disguised screen name.
Combat: As insinuated above, combat in VO is primarily accomplished through name calling, and personal insults. A number of spells are available right off the bat, such as "link" and "reply", but others require a certain amount of experience, like "edit" or "delete", and it should be noted these latter two can only be used on one's own character.
Skills: Skill points come in infinite quality, and can be used to purchase salami hogs/hung lasagna as well as buying different spells for your character. As mentioned before, each class has approximately 2.71828182... skill trees to pursue throughout the game.
PvP: A large amount of Vendetta Online is based around player versus player combat. However, the player base, consisting only of Green Peace members choose not to engage in combat with each other. Ever.
Social/community: The community is divided into two sides, those being the Free Capitalists, and the less popular, and frankly smellier Commies. If you're interested in creating a character, I strongly recommend that you join up with the Free Capitalist Project. Visit the website to sign up for a subscription to Free Capitalist Magazine, and tune into 630AM to listen to Free Capitalist Radio.
Quests: The quests range from tilting at windmills to fighting Proms, though there is some controversy over the distinction between these two feats.
Instancing Every time you log in, the player is sent to it's own instance, where interaction with others is only achievable through the use of verbal insults.
Krafting The player is given the option to craft many various items, such as Oreos, or Macaroni and Cheese.
Other: There's really no other features to Vendetta Online other than the ones I've described. That's about it. Seriously.
I'd just like to add as a last note, I am in no way shape or form affiliated with the group, SuperMegaMynt. I totally hate those guys, and they're all communists.

What is the name of the website this research is for?
While I concur with almost everything that's been said, in the interests of overloading our visitor with information, I hereby direct him to http://www.vo-wiki.com
That is all.
That is all.
I vote that the WORST font ever for a website. I can't even read the title & intro paragraph.
Hey, MelGMMO, I hereby offer my professional website design skills to help your website grow. And, um, be legible, too.

Nothing to sneeze at, btw. He does that stuff for a living.
Its actually not a bad idea for a website. I think he should go with Definitely NOT SuperMegaMynt's information as that seems to be the most complete and accurate.
