If I enable rglow while in a storm, or have it enabled when entering, the depth effect (roids are invisible at higher distances) is disabled.
If I turn of rglow, then re-enter the storm sector, it's obscured like it's supposed to.

Ubuntu GNU/Linux 6.10 "Edgy Eft"
nVidia driver version 1.0-9625
club3d nVidia GeForce 7600GS-based video card (AGP)
Xorg 7.1.1

This is, ofcourse, echoed to a bug report.
Other than that, the new storms Rule Supreme and I can't wait for the cool stealth and counter-stealth equipment!

Weeeeeeee!!!

I noticed a neat little bug. if you log out inside a storm in the fog, the main login screen shows the spinning station inside fog!

Yeah, that rocks!

yeah, tumble, I noticed this while I was pinged out during DR...

Fog works perfect here. (Powerbook 12" 1.33GHz Geforce FX Go5200)
and it really looks kind of creepy.

The only Thing I have to say: PLEASE change the Fog Colour. It looks a bit simple and unnatural.

One Programmer at my ex-workplace said to the colours ( like this blue) "Its a typical programmer colour. Just a fast and simple Take of RGB. A Graphic Artist would choose this seldom"

I really would like some "grey-blue" or "grey-green" like they used in some Sci-fi movies for a "cold" and unfriendly look. ;)

Edit: One more thing:

The fog doesn´t really look like Turok (The "Clouds" made the difference ;)) Great work!

*that* particular fog color was chosen because of the ion storm's bluish particles.

previous screenies of the fogs had green-ish hues so we can assume the actual fog color to be configurable and dependent on usage scenario.

- Fixed random crashes on startup in Windows on multiprocessor machines.

Omg. Thank you. This has plagued my workstation off and on for many months.

'Looking forward to checking out the gfx changes on the main gaming machine as soon as my young nephew vacates the den post-holiday. For now, it's the laptop and on-board video.

Ah, I figured out the "Plain Blue Fog" thing: The detail of the fog effect is tied to the "Space Junk Detail" setting. If you turn off space junk, the clouds turn off as well and you get the flat blue color.

confirmed!

we would need a different setting to untie this to space junk (if it was intentional or not).

i fly w/o space junk because of induced motion sickness.

I like the fog effect , very etherial. Presumably it would be relatively straightforward to add low density fogs and mists of assorted coulours to other sectors ? Perhaps a light green mist at stations which refine xith , that sort of thing .

it's probably because you've soiled os x with a custom ui patch

;-)

Um. I have Space Junk off...
Dec 24, 2006 upper case link
afaik, you're not on mac rogue. last i heard, you ran linux.

this might be a mac-related bug?
Dec 24, 2006 tumblemonster link
Ahhh, that's why the fog loked a little too flat to me. I always play with space junk off. It would deffinately be nice to seperate the two detail settings.
Dec 26, 2006 Demonen link
object, I get the same thing.

Someone forgot to increment something somewhere...
Dec 26, 2006 moldyman link
Wow, so do I.
Dec 26, 2006 a1k0n link
object, heh. Yeah, I forgot to change that number. Fixed.
