I hadn't read of Ray's apology for the item price adjustment snafu several weeks back until going through this thread. Thank you.

I lost many tens of millions in profits as a result of that unnatural and downward price fluctuation. More importantly, that single action wasted a great many real-life hours. Communication works wonders.

Obviously, people going away for a little while and then coming back to find all their money gone (or their ships sold by some kind of galatic Repo Man) would be a Bad Thing.

Again, there is nothing to get upset about here. I'm going to write some design documentation, then that will get posted to Suggestions for input, then I'll respond with how/what/if we're changing things based on said input, then it'll get implemented.. and then there'll be a two-week notice before the new system is put into place in production. We have not even reached step one yet. This is not a big deal.

Here's a legitimate concern:

if we're looking at imposing station sorage limits on players that will affect the number of ships they can store at any given station, I believe it is also very important that the number of ship presets available be increased to compensate -- I typically store 8-9 different ships at various stations simply so I don't need to much around with re-equipping all of those layouts the next time I want to use them. Ballpark, I have maybe 20 different ship layouts that I use with some reasonable frequency, and don't want to re-define each time I use them. A system that allows you to save and name custom presets to be stored in a list (maybe a maximum of 50?) would be vastly superior, and would alleviate the problem of storing ships for convenience. I for one would really like to be able to climb out of my tri-rail/dual-lmine ragnarok, save it as the preset "Snipa Rag", and then just select and load the preset "Marksman Rag" for my try-neut/dual-Mposi ragnarok, "Shotgun Rag" for my tri-popcorn/dual-GC ragnarok, "Gunship Rag" for my tri-flare/AGT/swarm ragnarok or "BFGC" for my MGC, etc...

EDIT: oh, and Inc... what about that VO newsletter that we sign up for when creating our accounts? I've never once seen one of those... yet, couldn't you use that to notify players of such changes in the future?

Yes, the vendetta mailing list is currently one of my higher-priority projects, but it isn't ready yet.
