Ey there I was wondering how you set axis in vendetta online im trying to get a control similar to mmm, freespace? With a ps2 joystick... but cant get the exact feeling... please help me :)
Personally, I don't know anything about joysticks. I think it kinda depends what platform you're using. There's a great thread in the mac forum on joysticks.

Ask Yoda, I think he uses a PS joystick..
The most important question, that no one is asking: What OS are you running?
I know Linux and a bit of windows. I also use two sticks.

Im under Windows XP, my joystick work in the game, what I want to configure is the way of the joystick (where to put roll, pitch and turn) Tried different thing I wasnt able to feel the control im used to with other games
If you have any ideas about how you would like the joystick to work in VO, feel free to email me (or post here) and maybe we could make an option for that.
Ah, if you're trying to configure it in-game, check this thread out. It doesn't matter that it's in the Mac OS X forum, I'm pretty sure joysticks work the same way in-game now matter what platform you're on. There:

Well ive browsed trough the link you gave me what I want is not exactly there..
What I want to know is how people with playstation gamepad set their axis (roll pitch and turn)
I think ive found some kind of ok setting dunno if its same that I used in games like starlancer or freespace but im gonna stick to it for now but I would like to compare with someone else setting!

Here Floydian, I think we'll all just have to wait until yoda comes back, (I'm assuming he's somewhere right now). But here you go:

Errm, im somewhere!
Errrm, I guess what your askin is what do I find most comfortable when im using my ps2 pad? Well here goes :)
Stick 1 = Pitch/turn (not inverted)
Stick 2 = All Strafes (not inverted)
Dpad Up = Next Target In Front
Dpad Down = Target Nearest Enemy
Dpad Left = Empty
Dpad Right = Empty
Start = Activate
Select = (turbo toggle bind)
Triangle = Turbo
Circle = Forwards
X = Backwards
Square = Brake
L1 = Roll Left
R1 = Roll Right
L2 = Fire Primary
R2 = Fire Secondary
And well, I find it works well enough :)

I may have some questions for Ray re: dual joystick setup.
(1 - they keep switching between stick #1 and stick #2, 2 - sometimes they lose analog goodness, and 3 - is there a way to save what you've set them up as?)

1- They keep switching? I thought I made it so they don't do that. Can you send me your config.ini file? Each joystick is supposed to have a unique identifier but maybe the driver thinks they are exactly the same.
2- hmm. that's a new one. Are you force-quitting VO instead of exiting normally? The joystick settings are saved when VO exits normally.
3- no, all you can do is to have different config.ini files that you manually switch, or make scripts that switch all the joystick settings and run them in-game.

Yeah, Leber, like me, has never quit Vendetta properly in his life. We mac users are spoiled that way. COMMAND-Q and you're out. :D

Ey great thanks yoda im gonna try this right now
Ok well the only thing that doesnt feel right with it is that while you got the fingers on rolling keys you actually cant shoot?
OK Ray...
1 - I'll send it to you tonight. (Before or after I log out in the Guild-Software-approved sequence?)
2 - I always Command-Q, I never do the boring logout sequence. Hrm. I'll have to logout at least once properly then for it to keep my settings, yes? Heh. I promise to try to remember to logout normally and gently, so as not to break the software... ;)
3 - OK, I don't want to change then ever, saving the settings was intended as a way to possibly combat #1, where they switch identities.
I've got 2 Saitek Cyborg EVOs - ($15 each at the Saitek reconditioned website store - can't beat that deal) and since the two are exactly the same they may cause some confusion.

Oh, and Floydian - that's the problem that I had with my gamepad, I used the lower two "trigger" keys for firing, and the upper two "trigger" keys for rolling, so I could never fire primaries and roll right, or fire secondaries and roll left. Plus the stupid thing finally broke for good despite my best efforts at home videogame controller repair - and I could only strafe up and down, which led me to my additional stick purchase.
i have a ps3 controller and controllermate for mac and i was wondering if anyone knew how i could get it to work on VO
have controllermate ident the controller and then move the buttons over and save try that
It got shot down once before, but I would like to see the joystick work in physics mode in such a way that the throttle controls thrust and a button toggles whether that is forward or reverse thrust. The reason being is that the way it works now in physics mode, you have to find the exact center of the throttle range when you want no thrust and that is hard to do in combat.
