Keyboard/Mouse = Mouselook
Keyboard/Joystick = Non-mouselook (Mouse or Joystick directly controls ship)

Toggling mouselook with the ; key does the same thing as switching that setting in the controls page of the options.

Hmm, I've been trying to download 1.5 all night. So far, the download stops almost immediately, or doesn't start at all. Does anyone else have this problem, or is it exclusive to my connection?

I could share it through bittorrent once I have the file, if this is a common problem.

I am still experiencing this problem:

Edit: I just realized I have the links labelled wrong. The info on the screenshots is correct. Ie, the second one is the Old UI...

The new release is beautiful, well done!

I noticed something in multiple sectors of Ukari, Initros and Latos: Looks like 3 large black pillars or 2x4s in the middle of space. Almost looks like parts of the background aren't connecting. They are always the same size and oriented at the same angles to each other (same in all sectors). I played with some of the graphics details levels and got no change. Otherwise, everything was great.

krazyivan: If you are using Linux, that is a known issue with the linux nvidia drivers.

Gavan: I'm not quite sure I know what you mean.

Ray:

If you look at the Old UI, the red recticle is just a touch smaller than the blue recticle. As well, make note of the radar dot sizes, and the size of the speed/batt bars.

Now look at the new UI. You will notice that the red recticle is quite a bit smaller than the blue one. The radar dots are much smaller now. Also, the speed/batt bars are much bigger.

Looks like you hit that HUD scaling button for the old one, Gavan. Try hitting whatever F-key that was first.
Mar 21, 2006 Gavan link
Thats what I thought...

But the HudScale effects everything uniformly (or roughly). Why would the speed/batt bars get bigger, while the targeting recticle/radar blips get smaller?

When I hit F5 in the new UI it does just that. Makes everything smaller uniformly. For instance, in order to make my radar legible, I need to make it so big that my speed/batt bars take up most of the screen (hypothetically).

Does that make sense?

hidelog does not work anymore :(

That is annoying, especially with this too visible chat table (which is part of the UI size problems mentioned above).

Could we get it back please?

It had all those numbers when I was in the station, I thought those were real players, but when I went out, it was just me and LeberMac.

The when switching back to flight assist mode, the speed doesn't reflect your speed when you were in physics mode. It worked properly in beta8.
Mar 21, 2006 raybondo link
Suicidal Lemming: It was put back on purpose. There are more problems with it being the way you want it vs. the way it is currently.
Basically, if it's one way some people complain and if it's the other way other people complain.
Sorry, you're just going to have to live with it.

Gavan: It's different, yes, but I still don't see what's wrong. You're saying you just want the speed/energy bars to be smaller?

piglamamonkey: when do you want to use hidelog where hiding the whole hud won't do?

I'm running the same old 800 MHz PIII WinXP with a ATI Mobility 128 AGP 2x. Problem is still there.

Oh ok. Email me a screenshot again, please.

I agree with gav. It's not how big everything is in general, because hudscale can adjust that. It's that relative to itself parts of the UI are disproportionate to others. The chat box comes in a bit farther and is bigger, as are the battery and thrust bars. But the ship status box, the target status box, and the cargo/weapon loadout box are a lot smaller than they used to be, so when you scale down some things get way too small while others are finally just right.

It might be nice to have a UI in the options to resize all the stuff in the UI individually.

Hmm, to resubscribe or not to resubscribe... that tis the question. Should I play now, or wait for more content to be added?

Play now and get acustomed to the new User Interface. ^^

Ray:

Basically my biggest concern is the size of the targeting (the red one) recticle in the new UI (on my machine anyway). It is a hell of a lot smaller than the old UI.

If this is something you guys introduced to the new UI then I'm fine... no problems. Its a tad more difficult to catch up with given its size, but if everyone is having to adjust then no problems....

...but, if you guys didn't change it, and its only a problem on mine, then... I'd be curious to know how come. Hardware? Software?
