A Message From The Future...

=======Dominion News Bulletin!=======

Word has come in of a transmission received at the Karun Memorial Observatory at Betheshee. A wormhole, presumed to be manmade, has opened and deposited in deep space a message pod of spectacularly advanced design. The pod contained a single audiomail, apparently a recording off the radio taken in 4475 - nearly 145 years in the future.

The contents of the message have been deemed by the Serco Ministry of Free Information to be B-31: Highly Patriotic, and it has thus been ordered rebroadcast over all open frequencies, and relayed to ally and enemy alike. The news, though startling, is hardly unexpected...

Eo is pronounced "ayy-oh", smart one...

Oy, read the backstory once in a while...
Feb 20, 2006 ctishman link
Maybe we Serco can pronounce it any way we want to.

Who's gonna stop us... you?

Edit: This was for a class project in Digital Video/Audio. We had to make a Public Service Announcement, and use someone else's voice. The guy I used simply couldn't say "ayy-oh" over the course of about ten takes, God only knows why. I took the least "ee-oh"-ish one I could for the final recording.

Its good ^^ add it some pause's in the speech and some louder appluase and youve got a winner! :)

Thanks! This one I had to clip down to exactly 60 seconds, so I didn't get to include all of what I recorded. Perhaps I'll get around to a new version someday. :(

Ah, no wonder why. You should add them in just for the hell of it ^^, I would like to listen to it, perhaps it could be extended out to a two or even three minute clip?

"...thouh you know it'd never happen..."

It....DID happen.

Yeah, it's from the FYOOOOCHEERRRRR.

Although really that could be kind of a cool plot device. Through some strange reflection a message from 150 years in the future is intercepted. The meaning of the message would be arguable, but the simplest interpretation is that Serco have won. It adds a nifty dynamic to both sides.

Itani - We're doomed...or....are we? Can we change it? No, we're doomed, let's give up. But, what if...?

Serco - Yay! We're the winners! Ehhh...the glory of the universe will be over. Do we really want to wipe out our greatest adversary after all? I don't know if I really want that day to arrive.

Sounds disturbingly similar to Hitler =P
Feb 20, 2006 ctishman link
Actually, disturbing as it may be, that's exactly the sound I was going for, make of that what you will...

I see Divinia is still around. In fact, everything "east" of Itan is. Including the "hypothetical" location of the Akanese homeworld. Sounds like more propoganda to me without basis. :P

P.S. - What the newscaster failed to mention all the horrible things that happened to Serco Prime.
Feb 20, 2006 ctishman link
Here's the last paragraph, with the parts I had to cut:

This to the Akanese who are listening: The Serco are strong. Our resolve is stronger. We shall not stray until the last terrorist is dragged into the sunlight, that all might see his cowardice. Give up now, and we might yet spare your insignificant lives.

Hail Lady Serco! Good Night!

(crowd): Serco! Serco! Serco!

So yeah, the Akanese bastards are still in the galactic east of the Itani Crescent, fighting to the death, and as they wish it, death shall be upon them with the roaring fury of orbital bombardment.

AKA Ecka Estenk.

So the Itani and Serco nations are still at war in 145 years time . That's really good news for we traders. I thought for one horrible moment you had got together to send the UIT an income tax demand......
Feb 20, 2006 ctishman link
Don't worry, little unionist. Soon as we finish up with these blasted Akanese, we'll invite our prodigal sons home. You will be wrapped in the warm bosom of your Dominion, and never ever ponder leaving us again.

Cue intro music from Red Alert.

duh nuh nuh, duh nuh nuh, DUH nuh nuh

(Edit: For those lucky enough to know what I am talking about, the track is "Hell March". Alright, yes, I do really have in my possession music from a video game from 1996.)
