10.4.3, until two days ago, when I accidentally ran my hand + arm through the screen of my iMac. So, now I'm on ubuntu linux distrubution on another box (large, grey, unwieldy, and nowhere near as pretty as my iMac, may it rest in pieces until I find another monitor). That's not what you wanted to know, but I'm shooting for some sympathy here, or at least someone to condemn me for my clumsy behaviour :-P
But 10.4.3 worked perfectly fine for me, both vendetta-wise and otherwise.

been running VO on my Mac from version 10.2.7 right through to 10.4.3 no problems at all
10.4.3 no problems, other then lack of updates from the devs.
10.4.3.
10.3.9
"10.4.3 no problems, other then lack of updates from the devs."
I don't consider that a problem at all. Especially not one associated with OS X.
Stay on-topic, please.

[EDIT] Uh-oh, I really don't like where this is heading. Are you hoping to introduce some eye-candy/new crap that makes the game require 10.3 or 10.4??? NOOOoooo!!!!!

Calder: I personally also run VO on a computer running 10.2.8, and it runs just fine. No rglow/shaders, but it does the job.
10.3.9 for me.
Part of the reason for the poll is actually to figure out how many users we have on 10.3.9 or greater.
The whole x86-Mac thing is going to require us to move to using GCC 4.x to compile the game for the mac. Something we wouldn't normally mind, as it has much better PPC optimizations than 3.x (read: potentially faster mac version), but Apple also changed around some of their libraries at the same time. So, in our particular case, if we build a client with GCC 4.x, it will only work on OS 10.3.9 or greater. Because of this, we've held off on migrating to the new compiler. Unfortunately the intel fat-binary (binaries that will run on both PowerPC and Intel) thing is only part of the new compiler, so.. we're going to have to start using it soon.
I wanted to get some idea of how many people are still using 10.2.8 and the like. I don't like raising the system requirements, but the alternative is that we roll separately updated versions of the game for "new" and "old" MacOS, which would require building and testing *four* versions of the game for every release, and would be quite a hassle.
So, it isn't eye candy at all. It's just to make the game work on the new Intel macs. Heh, any chance of upgrading your OS, Calder? :).

10.4.2 when I last ran Vendetta (which was less than half a year ago). No complaints on my end, bugs- or graphics-wise.
Damn it, I need a subscription.

10.4.3 :)
Hey, for this game I'd do just about anything... except upgrade my OS. :D
My dad says "the only time you should get a new OS is when one is either completely disfunctional, or you get a new computer". And he stands by that too.
Heck, I'm just lucky our old Mac OS 9 computer died!
And if you're thinking of having ME buy the OS, I'm practically broke, with no alternative ways of earning money, the simple answer is no. I'm willing to spend $10 bucks a month paying for you dev's food, but I'm not willing to $100 to some big corporation every time THEY come out with a new upgrade.

I'm normally running 10.4.3 for the game but also have a 10.4.4 partition.
(I have Partnet-level download assets transfered to my account via the office ADC account).
At the office, I also have a DTK *grin* that runs 10.4.3.

well almost all here seems to be able to run a new client based on the new compiler, and its just not VO, but mac communities all over the place, they all have major changes coming to their favorite softwares with the arrival of the intelmacs. But there is also probably some other major positive benefits like higher performance, witch sadly will outweight the few running on OS 10.2.x.
Ofc there are consequences to upping the requirements for playing this game, but fortunately that is not up to us to decide...
