You know, the shape of the back of the TPG capship is ALMOST like it's intended to dock into SOMETHING else, or it's intended to hold cargo or something.

I can't think of any other reason for the trailing "railroad tracks." They're probably docking struts? Hrm? So we'd "back into" the stations? That'd be fun to try.

Those things still bug me. I hope that there's a reason for them, if not then, well, they're just great places to shoot the capship while being out of range of the front weapons most likely.

Lebermac, what's with you and insisting a large ship will only have weapons on the front? Was the heavy assault cruiser redone to have all 20 or so turrets on the nose or something?

Oh I am sure that there will be "rear" weaps as well, but due to the engines obstructing the field of fire from the front, there will be no way for any fore to midship weapons mounts to fire at rear attackers.

You'll need just as many weapons on the REAR for point defense on the extra surface area.

Anyway, the design looks just as cool without the rails. I KNOW that must be there for SOMETHING, I just dunno what.

Maybe it transforms into the arm of some Gestalt Space Robot or something... and the HAC makes the legs and torso... and the Trident is the head...

What makes you think those rails are in the rear? It seems to me that they're in the front. Look at the lower picture. I see exhaust vents on the sides.

It's possible, but there are really a number of glaring things that are keeping me from thinking so, besides the fact that some areas just need some work.

As for it being 'backwards', that style is generally reserved for lighter ships, and to *not* have it that way is confusing to people. Not to mention that I can't see a cockpit anywhere...
